From municipal biowaste processing to the preemption of biomethane guarantee of origin: towards a redefined role for local policy actors in the biogas circular economy?

open access: yes
International audienceWhile French national-state level policy instruments appear determinant to steer the deployment of biogas technologies to ensure a « 100% renewable gas mix in 2050 » (ADEME, 2018), mostly through a biomethane feed-in tarif, a series

Modelling and Identification of a Methanisation Process in Waste Treatment

open access: yesIFAC Postprint Volumes IPPV / International Federation of Automatic Control, 2001
Abstract A simple kinetic model of a methanisation process is presented including hydrolysis, production of volatile fatty acids and methane. Based on a detailed description of this bioprocess, a simplified model is derived accounting for two types of biomass.

Methanisation of spent maqui berry pomace via enzymatic treatment

Renewable Energy, 2016
Abstract The commercial enzyme preparations Pectinex Ultra SP-L and Celluclast 1.5 L were used in the treatment of spent maqui berry pomace to improve the anaerobic methanogenic potential of the pomace. Two types of enzymatic treatment were evaluated, a pre-treatment prior to anaerobic methanisation and an enzymatic treatment during the methanisation

Methanisation of Agadir urban solid waste: Theoretical evaluation of the energy production potential

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2020
Abstract The treatment and recovery of urban solid waste by methanisation is an important source of renewable energy production. However, despite the growing interest in these technologies, this technique is still widespread in the field of solid waste treatment. In Morocco, landfill technology has been the technique of choice in this area.

Methanisation: A promising green technology to manage organic wastes in the Moroccan dairy industry

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2020
Abstract Production of green renewable energy such as methane from dairy wastes on an industrial scale allows to the economy of energy bill and increase the competitiveness. However, evaluation of energy potential at different conditions in the laboratory scale is necessary before the industrialization step, which give useful information about the ...

Bio-methanisation potential (BMP) test for organic waste available in the south region of Tunisia

2020 11th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC), 2020
Driving into renewable energy production from organic resources and wastes becomes the most effective solution to cover the energy demand and to reduce the environment issues. Recent studies report that anaerobic digestion, especially the co-digestion, is an efficient alternative technology that combines bio-energy production with sustainable waste ...

Effect of salt and sodium concentration on the anaerobic methanisation of the halophyte Tripolium pannonicum

Biomass and Bioenergy, 2016
Abstract The halophyte species Sea Aster (Tripolium pannonicum) was grown with different concentrations of artificial seawater. In a second experiment, T. pannonicum was cultivated with a nutrient solution containing different concentrations of NaCl. This halophyte biomass was used to determine the biogas production potential.
