A stereodivergent route from D‐mannitol enables access to enantiopure C5‐α‐substituted linezolid analogues with full configurational control. Biological evaluation reveals that α‐substitution abolishes antibacterial activity irrespective of stereochemistry, establishing a strict steric limitation at C5 and highlighting the dominant role of substituent ...

The Gram‐positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, contain wall teichoic acid (WTA, a glycopolymer (green and yellow)) is a virulence factor in their cell wall. Synthesis of the peptidoglycan‐(PG)‐WTA conjugate (blue squares) was developed via the phospho‐donor and PG acceptor (structures at the bottom right).

The 2:1 chlorhexidine–clotrimazole combination demonstrated enhanced antibacterial activity against canine Staphylococcus pseudintermedius isolates, including resistant strains. Reduced MIC values, predominantly additive interactions and absence of antagonism support its use as a promising topical strategy for canine pyoderma management.
