Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.

Oxacillin magnetically targeted for the treatment of Methicillin-Resistant S. aureus infection in rats [PDF]
To evaluate the effect of oxacillin bonded to magnetic nanoparticles in local infection model in rat.Twelve Wistar rats weighing 290±18g were randomly divided into four groups (n=6, each) and all rats had a magnet ring sutured on their right thighs.

Pan-European early switch/early discharge opportunities exist for hospitalised patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus complicated skin and soft-tissue infections [PDF]
The objective was to document pan-European real-world treatment patterns and healthcare resource use and estimate opportunities for early switch (ES) from intravenous (IV) to oral antibiotics and early discharge (ED) in hospitalised patients with ...

The contribution of this study lies not only in enabling effective treatment of drug‐resistant biofilm infections, but also in establishing a transferable therapeutic paradigm: Ultrasound‐triggered mechanical forces synergistically enhance piezoelectric polarization and nanozyme activity, driving functional ROS generation inside and outside biofilms ...

Genome sequencing defines phylogeny and spread of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in a high transmission setting. [PDF]
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a major cause of nosocomial infection. Whole-genome sequencing of MRSA has been used to define phylogeny and transmission in well-resourced healthcare settings, yet the greatest burden of nosocomial ...

Periprosthetic joint infection establishes a sophisticated immunosuppressive network between CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSCs and Bregs, inducing profound CD8+ T cell paralysis. Alendronate effectively disrupts this CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSC–Breg axis by targeting STAT3, thereby restoring local immune surveillance.

ABSTRACT U2 small nuclear RNA auxiliary factor 2 (U2AF2) is an essential pre‐mRNA splicing factor involved in the early stages of pre‐mRNA splicing. To date, multiple individuals have been reported with predominantly heterozygous missense variants presenting intellectual disability, speech and motor delays, seizures, hypotonia, and thin or hypoplastic ...
