Periprosthetic joint infection establishes a sophisticated immunosuppressive network between CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSCs and Bregs, inducing profound CD8+ T cell paralysis. Alendronate effectively disrupts this CXCR4+ PMN‐MDSC–Breg axis by targeting STAT3, thereby restoring local immune surveillance.

Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in Animals [PDF]
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a critically important human pathogen that is also an emerging concern in veterinary medicine and animal agriculture. It is present in a wide range of animal species, including dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, cattle, pigs, poultry, and exotic species, both as a cause of infection and in healthy ...

Repression of Virulence in Staphylococcus aureus by 2‐Aminothiol‐Mediated Quorum Quenching
Simple analogues of cysteine that can eliminate the native autoinducing peptides (AIPs) of staphylococci extracellularly, before they activate their receptor, and turn off quorum sensing in different Staphylococcus aureus. The elimination of AIPs occurs through a mechanism similar to native chemical ligation (NCL). Further, this strategy showed promise

Lipid nanostructured particles with increasing negative Gaussian curvature progress from vesicles to P‐cubosomes and D‐cubosomes. This curvature hierarchy enhances interaction with bacterial membranes, promotes membrane remodeling and leakage, and potentiates daptomycin activity against MRSA.

A new class of Cu, Ni bimetallic 2D cMOF (CuNi‐HHTP 2D cMOF) featuring dual catalytic sites and high delocalized electronic structure for boosting POD performance. The CuNi‐HHTP 2D‐cMOF enhances the conversion kinetics of H2O2 to ROS, which subsequently enhances antibacterial activity and accelerates the healing of oral ulcers, with macroscopic wound ...

A rigid‑flexible integrated CO depot is engineered by embedding rigid COFQDs into a flexible ECM gel network. The rigid framework enables high‑capacity CO storage and sonodynamic bacterial killing, while the flexible ECM gel controls sustained CO release, collectively eradicating multidrug‑resistant infection and promoting scarless healing.

This study unveils a novel antibacterial mechanism against MRSA, in which the compound Py‐27 selectively targets and inhibits aspartate transcarbamoylase (ATCase), a key enzyme in pyrimidine synthesis. This inhibition disrupts DNA replication, induces oxidative damage, leading to potent bactericidal activity.

2129. When Is Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus not Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus? [PDF]
Abstract Background As part of active surveillance in our NICU for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), two isolates representing modified S. aureus (MODSA), which are Methicillin resistant but lacking mecA or C were identified. Our current microbiology laboratory workflow for screening
