Two-dimensional metric and tetrad gravities as constrained second order systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Using the Gitman-Lyakhovich-Tyutin generalization of the Ostrogradsky method for analyzing singular systems, we consider the Hamiltonian formulation of metric and tetrad gravities in two-dimensional Riemannian spacetime treating them as constrained ...

Comparison of the accuracy of bracket positioning between direct and digital indirect bonding techniques in the maxillary arch: a three-dimensional study

open access: yesProgress in Orthodontics, 2022
Background/objectives When the indirect bonding technique was developed in 1972 by Silverman and Cohen, many authors wondered whether this technique would improve bracket positioning accuracy compared to the direct bonding technique.

Pain and removal force associated with bracket debonding: a clinical study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science, 2021
Objective: Pain is a problem during bracket removal, and more comfortable treatment is needed. This study examined the association of pain with the removal force required for ceramic brackets, compared with metal and plastic brackets, to determine which ...

Finite Order BFFT Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We have proposed a method in the context of BFFT approach that leads to truncation of the infinite series regarded to constraints in the extended phase space, as well as other physical quantities (such as Hamiltonian).

Comparison of different methods of controlling pain during debonding of orthodontic brackets

open access: yesJournal of the Pakistan Medical Association, 2023
Objective: To compare the efficacy of finger pressure and plastic wafers in terms of pain control during debonding. Method: This cross sectional study was conducted at the Department of Orthodontics, Armed Forces Institute of Dentistry, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, from January to June 2020, and comprised patients of either gender aged 13-21 years who had ...

Outcomes of Live Virus Vaccination in Patients With Vascular Anomalies Being Treated With Sirolimus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Live vaccination in patients with vascular anomalies (VA) receiving sirolimus remains controversial due to immunosuppressive effects and theoretical risks. Procedure This single‐center retrospective study included patients with VA less than 4 years old at the start of sirolimus therapy who were incompletely vaccinated.

Financial Burden Associated With Hospitalisation Among Families of Childhood Brain Tumours in Australia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

Classification and Casimir Invariants of Lie-Poisson Brackets

open access: yes, 1999
We classify Lie-Poisson brackets that are formed from Lie algebra extensions. The problem is relevant because many physical systems owe their Hamiltonian structure to such brackets. A classification involves reducing all brackets to a set of normal forms,

Comparison of Shear Bond Strengths of Ceramic Brackets Using Either Self-etching Primer or Conventional Method After Intracoronal Bleaching

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Orthodontics, 2015
Objective:To evaluate initial shear bond strengths (SBSs) of ceramic brackets using either a self-etching primer (SEP) or the conventional method (CM) after intracoronal bleaching with sodium perborate and distilled water.Materials and Method:Eighty ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
