Decolonizing Central African Art Histories: New Perspectives and Methodologies

open access: yes, 2004
Central African art history has been shaped by colonial influences, often marginalizing indigenous perspectives and methodologies. We employed participatory action research (PAR) in collaboration with local artists and cultural institutions to document traditional arts, ensuring their voices are central to the narrative.

Stiffness‐Programmable Origami Robots With Tendon‐Driven Actuation via Multimaterial 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Motion diversity is achieved in a tendon‐driven origami robot through programmable stiffness rather than modified actuation. Multimaterial 3D printing embeds soft creases, modular inserts redirect identical tendon inputs into distinct behaviors, and variable‐stiffness inserts enable real‐time switching.

Bias‐Engineered Synthetic Antiferromagnets Hosting Sub‐20 nm Zero‐Field Skyrmions at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fully compensated synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF) multilayer exhibits a uniform state at zero field, without skyrmions. We use a SAF bias system to provide RKKY‐mediated exchange bias to the SAF multilayer, promoting zero‐field skyrmion stabilization and polarity control.

Material culture for the study of history and art history: state of the art and some methodological approaches

open access: yes
Aunque la mayoría de las obras de arte tienen un componente físico ineludible, el estudio de la cultura material en la historia del arte ha estado menos desarrollado que el de otro tipo de objetos como los de las llamadas artes "artes menores" o "artes aplicadas".
