Coastal Marine Carbon and Air‐Sea Fluxes Quantified From pH Sensors on an Extended AUV Deployment
Abstract For the first time, the Autosub Long Range (ALR) completed a fully autonomous, long‐distance (2,000 km) scientific mission, delivering new insight into coastal carbonate dynamics and air‐sea CO2 ${\text{CO}}_{2}$ fluxes. Equipped with a suite of oceanographic sensors, including a Lab‐on‐Chip (LOC) pH sensor and a Sea‐Bird SeaFET pH sensor, the

A Semi‐Resolved VOF‐DEM Coupling Method for Bedload Transport of Non‐Spherical Particles
Abstract Bedload transport of coarse sediments involves complex particle‐flow interactions that govern sediment motion and bed surface evolution. In this study, a semi‐resolved CFD‐DEM method is developed to simulate bedload sediment dynamics, in which the background fluid information for each particle is calculated using a Gaussian kernel function ...

Testing a site‐prioritisation framework to maximise survival of seeded corals
The framework tested can improve the efficiency of seeded‐coral deployments by increasing average survival through site selection for most taxa, thereby reducing the number of deployed spat needed to achieve a target outcome. Species‐specific weighting of factors was unnecessary for many Acropora species, but may be important for other taxa.

Abstract Three‐quarters of US prisons offer vocational training programs, which aim to place trainees in middle‐skills jobs in specific occupational sectors post‐release. These middle‐skills jobs may more effectively reduce recidivism than the jobs that normally characterize the labor market experience of the formerly incarcerated, yet whether ...
