Application of Methyl Jasmonate and Methyl Jasmonate + Urea in Tempranillo Vines: Influence on Grape Phenolic Compounds

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Enology and Viticulture, 2022
Background and goals The aim of this work was to study, for the first time, the influence of foliar application of methyl jasmonate (MeJ) and methyl jasmo-nate plus urea (MeJ+Ur) on Tempranillo grape phenolic composition over two seasons. Methods and key findings This work examined grape phenolic compounds usi ng hi gh-per f or mance l i qui d ...

Impact of the invasive diatom species Cymbella janischii on riverine microbial biofilm communities and a potential role of bacterially produced zeatin

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, EarlyView.
Abstract The diatom Cymbella janischii is an invasive species in Japan, causing nuisance blooms by forming thick mats in rivers. To date, there are no documented studies on the microbiome associations in C. janischii mats or the processes that drive bloom formation.

Methyl jasmonate and its potential in cancer therapy [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Signaling & Behavior, 2015
Methyl jasmonate (MeJa) is a naturally occurring hydrophobic oxylipin phytohormone. Early findings obtained from cancer cell lines suggest that MeJa is endowed with anticancer capabilities. It has been recently proposed that MeJa represents a novel agent that exhibits direct and selective actions against tumor cells without affecting normal human cells.

Systemic acquired resistance: an emerging role for jasmonates in local signal biogenesis, translocation and distal signal decoding

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Jasmonate signalling underpins establishment of plant systemic acquired resistance (SAR). Activation of the hypersensitive response (HR) not only contains the pathogen but establishes broad spectrum resistance in unchallenged leaves. The strong burst of reactive oxygen/nitrogen species initiating the HR results in lipid peroxidation (illustrated by ...

Development of a validated RP-HPLC/DAD method for the quantitative determination of methyl jasmonate in an insect repellent semi-solid formulation

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
A simple and efficient reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method has been developed for the first time for the estimation of a mosquito repellent, methyl jasmonate in a cream formulation, and validated as per the ...

Enhancement of taxane production in cell suspension culture of Corylus avellana L. Kalınkara by elicitation and precursor feeding

open access: yesBiotechnology & Biotechnological Equipment, 2023
Paclitaxel (trademark Taxol®) is the most effective chemotherapeutic agent against a wide range of cancers. Hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.) cell culture is a promising and inexpensive strategy for producing paclitaxel and related taxanes.
