Liquid hydrogen, methylcyclohexane, and ammonia as potential hydrogen storage: Comparison review

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2019
Among the several candidates of hydrogen (H2) storage, liquid H2, methylcyclohexane (MCH), and ammonia (NH3) are considered as potential hydrogen carriers, especially in Japan, in terms of their characteristics, application feasibility, and economic ...

Density functional theory study on catalytic dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane on Pt(111)

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2020
Density Functional Theory (DFT) method was used to study the step-by-step dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane (MCH) to toluene on a Pt(111) surface to understand adsorption properties of the reactants, intermediates and the products involved.

Hydrodeoxygenation of m-Cresol over Ru based catalysts: Influence of catalyst support on m-Cresol conversion and methylcyclohexane selectivity

Renewable Energy, 2020
The hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of m-Cresol (a representative of lignin bio-oil) has enormous potential for the production of valuable compounds. The products obtained from HDO of m-Cresol (m-Cr) are blendable into conventional fuels and essential for ...

Synergy of metallic Pt and oxygen vacancy sites in Pt–WO3−x catalysts for efficiently promoting vanillin hydrodeoxygenation to methylcyclohexane

Green Chemistry, 2022
Pt–WO3−x catalysts with more Pt0 species and proximity of oxygen vacancy active sites derived from WO3−x, assisted by the hydrogen spillover effect, lead to an excellent methylcyclohexane yield (92.5%) at 220 °C, under 4.0 MPa H2 in n-hexane solvent.
