COARSE AND FINE GEOMETRY OF THE THURSTON METRIC

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2020
We study the geometry of the Thurston metric on the Teichmüller space of hyperbolic structures on a surface $S$. Some of our results on the coarse geometry of this metric apply to arbitrary surfaces $S$ of finite type; however, we focus particular ...

Geometry without topology as a new conception of geometry

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2002
A geometric conception is a method of a geometry construction. The Riemannian geometric conception and a new T-geometric one are considered. T-geometry is built only on the basis of information included in the metric (distance between two points).

Dust content solutions for the Alcubierre warp drive spacetime

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
The Alcubierre metric is a spacetime geometry where a massive particle inside a spacetime distortion, called warp bubble, is able to travel at velocities arbitrarily higher than the velocity of light, a feature known as the warp drive.

On the Hausdorff Dimension of CAT(κ) Surfaces

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2016
We prove that a closed surface with a CAT(κ) metric has Hausdorff dimension = 2, and that there are uniform upper and lower bounds on the two-dimensional Hausdorff measure of small metric balls.

F-Geometry and Amari’s α-Geometry on a Statistical Manifold

open access: yesEntropy, 2014
In this paper, we introduce a geometry called F-geometry on a statistical manifold S using an embedding F of S into the space RX of random variables. Amari’s α-geometry is a special case of F-geometry.

Tangent Lines and Lipschitz Differentiability Spaces

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2016
We study the existence of tangent lines, i.e. subsets of the tangent space isometric to the real line, in tangent spaces of metric spaces. We first revisit the almost everywhere metric differentiability of Lipschitz continuous curves.

Scale Transformations in Metric-Affine Geometry

open access: yesUniverse, 2019
This article presents an exhaustive classification of metric-affine theories according to their scale symmetries. First it is clarified that there are three relevant definitions of a scale transformation.

A Dually Flat Embedding of Spacetime

open access: yesEntropy, 2023
A model of spacetime is presented. It has an extension to five dimensions, and in five dimensions the geometry is the dual of the Euclidean geometry w.r.t. an arbitrary positive-definite metric.

Semi-Invariant Riemannian Submersions with Semi-Symmetric Non-Metric Connection

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2021
In this paper, we investigate semi-invariant Riemannian submersion from a Kaehler manifold with semi-symmetric non-metric connection to a Riemannian manifold. We study the geometry of foliations with semi-symmetric non-metric connection.

On some class of functional-differential equations

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2012
{In this paper we consider special functional-differential equations arising in geometry for the metric functions. We prove a theorem on the form of the metric functions.
