Some Fixed Point Theorems in b-metric Space

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper we have obtained some fixed point theorems on b- metric space which is an extension of a fixed point theorem by Hardy (13) and Reich (20).

The Space of Kähler Metrics

open access: yesJournal of Differential Geometry, 2000
Donaldson conjectured \cite{Dona96} that the space of K hler metrics is geodesic convex by smooth geodesic and that it is a metric space. Following Donaldson's program, we verify the second part of Donaldson's conjecture completely and verify his first part partially.

On Type of Metric Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1986
Families of finite metric spaces are investigated. A notion of metric type is introduced and it is shown that for Banach spaces it is consistent with the standard notion of type. A theorem parallel to the Maurey-Pisier Theorem in Local Theory is proved. Embeddings of l p {l_p} -cubes into the

Bounded-Distortion Metric Learning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Metric learning aims to embed one metric space into another to benefit tasks like classification and clustering. Although a greatly distorted metric space has a high degree of freedom to fit training data, it is prone to overfitting and numerical ...

Topological stability of a sequence of maps on a compact metric space

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper we discuss the dynamical system induced by sequence of maps i.e. time varying map on a metric space. We define and study shadowing and expansiveness of such dynamical systems.

Frames for Metric Spaces

open access: yesResults in Mathematics, 2022
We make a systematic study of frames for metric spaces. We prove that every separable metric space admits a metric $\mathcal{M}_d$-frame. Through Lipschitz-free Banach spaces we show that there is a correspondence between frames for metric spaces and frames for subsets of Banach spaces. We derive some characterizations of metric frames.

A Kernel-Based Calculation of Information on a Metric Space

open access: yes, 2013
Kernel density estimation is a technique for approximating probability distributions. Here, it is applied to the calculation of mutual information on a metric space.

THE EXISTENCE AND UNIQUENESS OF COMPLETION OF COMPLEX VALUED METRIC SPACES

open access: yesE-Jurnal Matematika, 2018
Completion of a metric space has been investigated and proved its existence and uniqueness. While a complex valued metric space is considered as a generalization of a metric space, we study the completion properties of complex valued metric spaces. Using

On the conformal gauge of a compact metric space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this article we study the Ahlfors regular conformal gauge of a compact metric space $(X,d)$, and its conformal dimension $\mathrm{dim}_{AR}(X,d)$. Using a sequence of finite coverings of $(X,d)$, we construct distances in its Ahlfors regular conformal

Deep Cosine Metric Learning for Person Re-identification [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Workshop/Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision, 2018
Metric learning aims to construct an embedding where two extracted features corresponding to the same identity are likely to be closer than features from different identities.
