The nature of ligand efficiency
Ligand efficiency is a widely used design parameter in drug discovery. It is calculated by scaling affinity by molecular size and has a nontrivial dependency on the concentration unit used to express affinity that stems from the inability of the ...

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.

On non-commutative Minkowski spheres
The purpose of the following is to try to make sense of the stereo- graphic projection in a non-commutative setup. To this end, we consider the open unit ball of a ternary ring of operators, which naturally comes equipped with a non-commutative version ...

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

Characterization of Clifford Torus in Three-Spheres
We characterize spheres and the tori, the product of the two plane circles immersed in the three-dimensional unit sphere, which are associated with the Laplace operator and the Gauss map defined by the elliptic linear Weingarten metric defined on closed ...

Complexity measure based on sensitivity analysis applied to an intensive care unit system
This work proposes a system complexity metric and its application to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) system. The methodology for applying said complexity metric comprises: (i) parameters sensitivity indices calculation, (ii) mapping connections dynamics ...

B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

Tangent spaces of the Teichm{ü}ller space of the torus with Thurston's weak metric [PDF]
In this paper, we show that the analogue of Thurston's asymmetric metric on the Teichm{\"u}ller space of flat structures on the torus is weak Finsler and we give a geometric description of its unit sphere at each point in the tangent space to Teichm{\"u}ller space.

Inclusion properties of the triangular ratio metric balls [PDF]
Inclusion properties are studied for balls of the triangular ratio metric, the hyperbolic metric, the $j^*$-metric, and the distance ratio metric defined in the unit ball domain. Several sharp results are proven and a conjecture about the relation between triangular ratio metric balls and hyperbolic balls is given.

Dimeric pyruvate formate‐lyase cleaves pyruvate using a radical‐based mechanism. G734 serves as a radical storage location, and the radical is transferred to the catalytic C419 residue. Mutation of the C418‐C419 pair causes loss of enzyme activity, but does not impede radical introduction onto G734. Therefore, cis‐ but not trans‐radical transfer occurs
