Metronidazole gel 25% as an adjunct to scaling and root planing showed clinical effect better than scaling and root-planing alone. In Indonesia metronidazole gel is not popular, since probably it is expensive and not easy to obtain.

Short-course metronidazole-induced reversible acute neurotoxicity in a renal transplant recipient
Neurotoxic manifestations due to chronic metronidazole intake are well known, but neurotoxicity due to short-term use of metronidazole is very rare. We present a case of acute neurotoxicity due to short course of injectable metronidazole given in usual ...

Plasmid-mediated metronidazole resistance in Clostridioides difficile
Cases of C. difficile (CD) resistant to metronidazole have been reported but the mechanism remains enigmatic. Here the authors identify a plasmid, which correlates with metronidazole resistance status in a large international collection of CD isolates ...

Antibiotic Remodeling of the Gut Microbiota Impairs Host Resistance to Secondary Infection
Gut microbial dynamics induced by four antibiotics, revealed distinct taxonomic and functional shifts. Vancomycin‐perturbed bacteriomes were proven to promote pathogen resistance to antibiotic treatment. Metronidazole‐treated mice showed pronounced Salmonella translocation to hepatic tissue, and altered Enterococcus avium populations modulated host ...

Prebiotic Ginseng polysaccharides (GP) alleviate mastitis through selective enrichment of gut L. murinus, which elevates its anti‐inflammatory metabolite deoxycholic acid (DCA). Circulating DCA engages mammary epithelial TGR5 receptors, triggering the cAMP–PKA pathway to suppress NF‐κB/NLRP3‐mediated inflammation.
