Metropolis Methods for Quantum Monte Carlo Simulations [PDF]
Since its first description fifty years ago, the Metropolis Monte Carlo method has been used in a variety of different ways for the simulation of continuum quantum many-body systems.

p16Ink4a‐Positive Hepatocytes Drive Liver Fibrosis Through Activation of LIFR Family Pathway
This study found that, following the long‐term CCl4 treatment, p16high hepatocytes appeared in zone 3, spatially co‐localizing with fibrotic areas. A specific cluster of p16high hepatocytes upregulated CTF1/LIF expression which induced HSC activation and further liver fibrosis, as revealed by single cell transcriptomic analysis.

Exploring the clinical utility of liquid biopsy with cfDNA in cancer: A systematic review
Various tumor cells may exhibit different genetic or phenotypic characteristics. This phenomenon of cancer cells, known as Tumor Heterogeneity, is responsible for multiple cancer sites caused in a single patient through metastases.

General heatbath algorithm for pure lattice gauge theory
A heatbath algorithm is proposed for pure SU(N) lattice gauge theory based on the Manton action of the plaquette element for general gauge group N. Comparison is made to the Metropolis thermalization algorithm using both the Wilson and Manton actions ...

Generalized Metropolis dynamics with a generalized master equation: An approach for time-independent and time-dependent Monte Carlo simulations of generalized spin systems [PDF]
The extension of Boltzmann-Gibbs thermostatistics, proposed by Tsallis, introduces an additional parameter $q$ to the inverse temperature $\beta$. Here, we show that a previously introduced generalized Metropolis dynamics to evolve spin models is not ...

Dual Targeting of Tau Kinases and Autophagy by Abemaciclib Independent of CDK4/6 Inhibition
Abemaciclib rescues cognitive function and attenuates tau pathology in Alzheimer's disease models, but not through its known cancer‐fighting mechanism. This study demonstrates that abemaciclib operates independently of CDK4/6 inhibition, instead directly targeting tau kinases CaMKII and GSK3β while simultaneously promoting autophagic clearance of ...

Metropolis simulations of Met-Enkephalin with solvent-accessible area parameterizations [PDF]
We investigate the solvent-accessible area method by means of Metropolis simulations of the brain peptide Met-Enkephalin at 300$ K$. For the energy function ECEPP/2 nine atomic solvation parameter (ASP) sets are studied. The simulations are compared with
