Thin film MgAl2O4: Mn spinel phosphor

Thin Solid Films, 1992
Abstract Thin films of MgAl 2 O 4 : Mn were prepared by electron gun evaporation. Films of 4 μm thickness on quartz substrate were characterized by X-ray diffraction and optical microscopy. The effect of annealing was studied, and cathodoluminescence yielded the expected green emission at 520 nm.

Interaction of MgAl2O4 and MgCr2O4 spinels with calcoferruginous melts

Refractories, 1969
The interaction was studied between MgAl2O4 and MgCr2O4 spinels (and their solid solutions and compositions with periclase) with calcoferruginous melts, which are the essential constituents of various slag reagents.

Mass spectrometric study of the evaporation of MgAl2O4 spinel

Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2017
The evaporation of MgAl2O4 spinel is studied via high-temperature Knudsen effusion mass spectrometry in the temperature range of 1850–2250 K. In the gas phase, molecular components typical of the simple oxides in the spinel and traces of gaseous complex oxide MgAlO are identified above the samples. The resulting values of the partial vapor pressures of

Interfaces in Transparent Polycrystalline MgAl2O4 Spinel

2019
Transparent ceramics have unique properties enabling applications no other materials can and magnesium aluminate spinel has been at the forefront of their development. However, the processing-property relationships of transparent spinel fabrication, in particular interfaces, which often govern densification and influence final properties, remain poorly

Radiation-induced electrical conductivity in MgAl2O4 spinel

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1991
Abstract The dc electrical conductivity of high purity, polycrystalline MgAl2O4 spinel of 99.5% theoretical density has been measured during irradiation by 18 MeV protons at reactor relevant ionization dose rates. The radiation-induced conductivity (RIC) at 200°C varied in a slightly sub-linear manner with dose rate. At temperatures between 250–350°C

Vibrational and elastic properties of aluminate spinel MgAl2O4

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2010
Abstract Zone-centre infrared and Raman phonon modes in the normal cubic spinel MgAl2O4 are calculated by applying the rigid-ion model. Elastic properties such as elastic constants, Young’s modulus, bulk modulus, shear modulus, compressibility, Poisson’s ratio and anisotropy factor are also calculated.

Raman study of MgAl2O4–FeAl2O4 and MgAl2O4–MgFe2O4 spinel solid solutions

2015
Spinels oxides are minerals or synthetic materials which are nowadays attracting considerable interests because of their physical and chemical properties. Ten synthetic spinels belonging to the MgAl2O4–FeAl2O4 solid-solution and four synthetic spinels belonging to the MgAl2O4–MgFe2O4 solid-solution have been studied by Raman spec-troscopy to verify the
