Magnetic field processing to enhance critical current densities of MgB2 superconductors [PDF]
Magnetic field of up to 12 T was applied during the sintering process of pure MgB2 and carbon nanotube (CNT) doped MgB2 wires. We have demonstrated that magnetic field processing results in grain refinement, homogeneity and significant enhancement in Jc ...

MGB2: Superconductivity and Pressure Effects [PDF]
We present a Ginzburg-Landau theory for a two-band superconductor with emphasis on MgB$_{2}$. Experiments are proposed which lead to identification of the possible scenarios: whether both $ $- and $ $-bands superconduct or $ $% -alone. According to the second scenario a microscopic theory of superconducting MgB$_{2}$ is proposed based on the ...

The first direct measurement of an anisotropic superconducting property in MgB2 was achieved for the bulk nucleation field Hc2, in a sample of aligned crystallites. It was found a ratio g(T) = Habc2/ Hcc2= 1.6 - 1.9, for T varying from 32 K to 26K, between H applied parallel to the ab plane, and along the c direction.

Twenty years passed since the discovery of superconductivity in MgB2. Although there is much progress, the use of superconductors, in general, and of MgB2 in particular, remains limited.

Implanting MoS2 quantum dots on MgB2 nanosheets for lithium–sulfur batteries
As a new generation of high‐efficiency energy storage devices, lithium–sulfur (Li–S) battery attract increasing attention. However, slow conversion kinetics of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) and severe shuttle effect are bottlenecks.

Size reduction of boron particles by high-power ultrasound for optimization of bulk MgB2
Critical current density, J c, in superconductors is strongly connected with size of defects in the material. Frequently, the smaller defects, the higher J c. In this work, we tried to reduce the size of cheap commercial boron precursor powder using high
