Based on a theoretical study, we demonstrated that magnesium boride nanotubes can reach the same stability as bulk MgB2 structure. However, most stable nanotubular forms are not structurally derived from mixed triangular-hexagonal structural motifs of a ...

Very high upper critical fields in MgB2 produced by selective tuning of impurity scattering [PDF]
We report a significant enhancement of the upper critical field $H_{c2}$ of different $MgB_2$ samples alloyed with nonmagnetic impurities. By studying films and bulk polycrystals with different resistivities $\rho$, we show a clear trend of $H_{c2 ...

A sol-gel method for growing superconducting MgB2 films
In this paper we report a new sol-gel method for the fabrication of MgB2 films. Polycrystalline MgB2 films were prepared by spin-coating a precursor solution of Mg(BH_4)_2 diethyl ether on (001)Al2O3 substrates followed with annealing in Mg vapor.

Paramagnetic Meissner effect in MgB2
Abstract We observed the paramagnetic Meissner effect (PME) in MgB 2 pellets after cooling in low fields of less than 1 Oe. As external magnetic field increases, the paramagnetic response of the sample decreases and disappears completely at 1 Oe. Effect of gamma irradiation on magnetic properties of MgB 2 has been investigated at low fields.

Topological superconducting phase in high-Tc superconductor MgB2 with Dirac–nodal-line fermions [PDF]
Topological superconductors are an intriguing and elusive quantum phase, characterized by topologically protected gapless surface/edge states residing in a bulk superconducting gap, which hosts Majorana fermions.

Transport Properties and Exponential n-values of Fe/MgB2 Tapes With Various MgB2 Particle Sizes
Fe/MgB2 tapes have been prepared starting with pre-reacted binary MgB2 powders. As shown by resistive and inductive measurements, the reduction of particle size to a few microns by ball milling has little influence on Bc2, while the superconducting ...

Some African Cyphostemma species evolved much larger genomes as they adapted to dry, rocky habitats. These expansions are linked to succulent traits and specialization on nutrient‐rich limestone outcrops. The findings show how climate‐driven aridification shaped plant evolution and highlight broader genome‐environment patterns across flowering plants ...

Significant improvement of Jc and flux pinning force of MgB2 by doping NTE-ZrW2O8 particles
Although introducing second phase particles as additional pinning centers is an effective method to improve the current carrying capacity of MgB2, the thermal strain caused by second phase particles in MgB2 and their impact on flux pinning have not ...
