Room‐temperature crystal structure of a metal‐dependent W‐formate dehydrogenase by serial synchrotron crystallography

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 82, Issue 9, Page 1072-1081, September 2026.
We report a room‐temperature serial synchrotron X‐ray crystallographic structural analysis of Nitratidesulfovibrio vulgaris formate dehydrogenase AB, an enzyme that reduces CO2 to formate.Metal‐dependent formate dehydrogenases (Fdhs) are a promising research target in efforts to mitigate climate change by developing active, efficient, selective and ...

Detection and treatment of peritoneal metastases in colon cancer: COLOPEC trial compared to routine practice

open access: yesColorectal Disease, Volume 28, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Aim The randomized COLOPEC trial demonstrated no benefit of adjuvant hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in preventing peritoneal metastases in locally advanced colon cancer. Because all patients underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy at 18 months, the study lacked a true control arm, leaving the effect of early detection and ...

Potential Applications of Nano Silver Fluoride in the Prevention of Dental Caries in Older Adults: A Scoping Review

open access: yesGerodontology, Volume 43, Issue 3, Page 524-530, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Dental caries remains highly prevalent in older adults and represents a growing public health concern due to increased tooth retention, polypharmacy, hyposalivation and functional limitations. Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) is widely used for caries arrest in this population but causes undesirable tooth staining. Nano Silver Fluoride

Effect of blood meals and mating on biodemographic characteristics of Aedes albopictus

open access: yesPhysiological Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 3, Page 446-459, September 2026.
Lifespan did not differ between virgin and mated males and females. The number of blood meals (one and two) significantly reduced adult lifespan compared with those with no blood meal. The effect of the second blood meal doubled females' egg production and their reproductive output.

Compounded 0.03% Tacrolimus in Cross‐Linked Hyaluronate Improves Ocular Surface Health in Dogs With Evaporative Dry Eye Disease

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 29, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To assess the clinical effects of a compounded 0.03% tacrolimus in 0.75% cross‐linked hyaluronic acid (XHA) on tear quantity, quality, and ocular surface health in dogs with evaporative dry eye disease (EDED). Procedures Sixteen client‐owned dogs diagnosed with EDED (normal aqueous production yet reduced stability) were enrolled in ...

Confocal microscopic images of SMCs incubated with MGd at various concentrations of 0 to 150 µg/mL.

open access: yes, 2013
The images demonstrate that an increased intracellular uptake of MGd in cytoplasm (red fluorescent dots) as MGd concentration increases.
