Magnesium oxide nanomaterials for effective adsorption of congo red dye and fluoride ions from aqueous solutions

open access: yesSustainable Chemistry for the Environment
This study investigates the synthesis of nanostructured magnesium oxide (MgO) using the auto-combustion method with urea (MgO-U), glycine (MgO-G), and citric acid (MgO-C) as fuels, followed by subsequent calcination. The selection of fuel plays a crucial

Effect of Active MgO on Compensated Drying Shrinkage and Mechanical Properties of Alkali-Activated Fly Ash–Slag Materials

open access: yesBuildings
The influences of MgO activity and its content on the mechanical properties, drying shrinkage compensation, pore structure, and microstructure of alkali-activated fly ash–slag materials were investigated. Active MgO effectively compensated for the alkali-

Spin‐Selective Interface Engineering in Oxide–Ferromagnetic Junctions via Atomic‐Scale Oxygen Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We show that interfacial oxygen at the MgO/Fe interface can be transformed from an uncontrolled variable into a tunable design parameter for spintronic junctions. Momentum microscopy provides direct access to the momentum‐ and spin‐resolved electronic structure beneath the insulating MgO layers, revealing how oxygen intercalation reshapes buried Fe ...

Magneto‐X Effects in Magnetic Soft Materials and Their Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review systematically explores magnetic soft materials (MSMs), a novel class of composites that transform under magnetic fields. It catalogs fundamental “Magneto‐X” effects, classifies materials by their matrix and magnetic fillers, and highlights transformative applications in soft robotics, biomedical devices, flexible electronics, etc. Finally,

Scalable Electrochemical Concrete Fabrication and Closed‐Loop Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The electrochemical‐driven recycling strategy establishes a reversible concrete material flow by extracting Ca, Si, Al, and Fe from concrete waste and regenerating functional feedstocks. These reversed products are reassembled into new concrete, which re‐enters service and ultimately returns to waste, enabling a closed‐loop, waste‐origin, and low ...

Circular Potential of Lithium‐Ion Battery Recycling Slags: Quantifying Microstructure and Elemental Distribution for a Holistic Valorization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A lithium‐bearing slag is investigated with the goal of holistic valorization. The present β‐eucryptite (LiAlSiO4) exhibits a high lithium content and low levels of impurities. The spinel contains most of the chromium and vanadium, representing additional valorization opportunities.

Polymorphic Superparaelectric Engineering Boosting Energy Storage Capacity in BaTiO3‐Based Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, Ca2+ incorporation promotes the coexistence of CaTiO3‐/BaTiO3‐derived paraferroelectric states, stabilizing cubic‐orthorhombic‐tetragonal polymorphic superparaelectric phases. This minimizes polarization energy barriers, facilitating full polarization saturation without compromising efficiency.
