Axisymmetric MHD equilibria with flow [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Physics Communications, 1984
Abstract Axisymmetric, ideal MHD configurations with steady flow are computed by applying the finite element method. Rectangular elements with four to eight nodes are used. By mesh rearrangement the equilibria are obtained in flux coordinates. Accurate results without flow and with purely toroidal flow are presented.

2D models for MHD flows [PDF]

open access: yesComptes Rendus de l'Académie des Sciences - Series IIB - Mechanics-Physics-Astronomy, 2020
A new model is proposed for low $Rm$ MHD flows which remain turbulent even in the presence of a magnetic field. These flows minimize the Joule dissipation because of their tendency to become two-dimensional and, therefore to suppress all induction effects.

Numerical study of the effect of channel geometry on the performance of Magnetohydrodynamic micro pump

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal, 2017
Magnetohydrodynamic micropumps received more attention due to its applications in pumping of biological and chemical specimens, such as blood, DNA, and saline buffers.

Magnetohydrodynamics in free surface liquid metal flow relevant to plasma-facing components

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2023
While flowing Liquid Metal (LM) Plasma-Facing Components (PFCs) represent a potentially transformative technology to enable long-pulse operation with high-power exhaust for fusion reactors, Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) drag in the conducting LM will reduce ...

Nonlinear theory of non-axisymmetric resonant slow waves in straight magnetic flux tubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Nonlinear resonant slow magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves are studied in weakly dissipative isotropic plasmas for a cylindrical equilibrium model. The equilibrium magnetic field lines are unidirectional and parallel with the z axis. The nonlinear governing

Properties of mass-loading shocks, 2. Magnetohydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The one-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics of shocked flows subjected to significant mass loading are considered. Recent observations at comets Giacobini-Zinner and Halley suggest that simple nonreacting MHD is an inappropriate description for active ...

Finite element analysis of effects of Joule heating, electro-osmosis and slip conditions on the performance of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) micropumps

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) micropump which is energy saving and less pollution has been widely investigated by researchers in recent years. Based on the finite element analysis (FEA) of numerical model of 3D MHD micropump, we investigated the ...

On non existence of tokamak equilibria with purely poloidal flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
It is proved that irrespective of compressibility tokamak steady states with purely poloidal mass flow can not exist in the framework of either magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) or Hall MHD models.

Micromagnetorotation of MHD Micropolar Flows [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2020
The studies dealing with micropolar magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows usually ignore the micromagnetorotation (MMR) effect, by assuming that magnetization and magnetic field vectors are parallel. The main objective of the present investigation is to measure the effect of MMR and the possible differences encountered by ignoring it.

Safety and Efficacy of 10 kHz Spinal Cord Stimulation for the Treatment of Refractory Chronic Migraine: A Prospective Long‐Term Open‐Label Study

open access: yesNeuromodulation: Technology at the Neural Interface, EarlyView., 2021
Abstract Background Refractory chronic migraine (rCM) is a highly disabling condition for which novel safe and effective treatments are needed. Safety and long‐term efficacy of paresthesia‐free high cervical 10 kHz spinal cord stimulation (SCS) were here prospectively evaluated for the treatment of rCM.
