Success of restoration strategies in preventing extirpation of 2 critically endangered coral species
Abstract An unprecedented marine heatwave in 2023 caused widespread coral bleaching and mortality throughout the Caribbean. In the Florida Keys (USA), 2 foundation species, elkhorn coral (Acropora palmata) and staghorn coral (Acropora cervicornis), were severely affected.

Abstract The design of experiments to investigate the combined effects of multiple stressors requires exposing target organisms to multiple combinations of stressor doses. Concurrent manipulation of stressors is often infeasible with wildlife, but long‐lasting health effects allow individual health to be used as an integrator of prior stressor exposure.

Abstract In many professional sport leagues, the worst‐performing teams receive higher probability of earning top draft picks. This provides teams incentives to purposefully lose, or “tank,” if they are not likely to contend for the playoffs or championships.

Summary Background and Objectives: Diagnosing cicatricial alopecia is challenging. Even with histology, a definitive diagnosis cannot always be made. Line‐field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC‐OCT), a non‐invasive imaging method with high resolution used in vivo, has proven helpful in diagnosing scarring alopecia.
