Artificial Lipidation of Antifungal Proteins and Antifungal Behavior: A Case Study with Cholesterylation

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
The antifungal behavior of artificial palmitoylated or cholesterylated chitinase domain is studied from biological, chemical, and physical properties, highlighting the importance of the chemical properties of the lipid moiety covalently attached to chitinase domain to obtain effective antifungal activity by artificial protein lipidation through a ...

Corrosivity of H2S-producing bacteria isolated from formation waters used in secondary crude-oil recovery

Lienhwalides: Unique Tropolone–Maleidride Hybrids from Hypoxylon lienhwacheense

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Lienhwalides are novel tropolone–maleidride hybrid molecules unique in nature. Absolute configuration is solved by semisynthetic approaches and X‐ray analysis. Interplay between both lwt and lwm biosynthetic gene clusters is responsible for the production of lienhwalides.

Self‐Assembly of Cholane–Phenanthrene–Cholane Trimers for Light‐Harvesting Supramolecular Systems

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
The self‐assembly of phosphodiester‐linked cholane–phenanthrene–cholane trimers is described. The morphology of the formed nanostructures depends on the phenanthrene isomer used and on the cooling rate during the assembly process leading to nanosheets, worm‐like structures, or nanotubes.
