Graphene Nanosheet‐Based Mixed Proton‐Electron Conducting Membranes for Efficient Hydrogen Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A monolayer graphene/phosphoric‐acid mixed proton‐electron conducting membrane combines proton‐conducting nanoconfined acid channels with electron‐conducting graphene nanosheets for efficient high‐temperature hydrogen purification. The membrane achieves nearly 100% H2/CO2 selectivity and 69 GPU hydrogen permeance at 250°C, arising from synergistic ...

Impact Features Induced by Single Fast Ions of Different Charge-State on Muscovite Mica

open access: yesAtoms, 2021
The influence of the charge state q on surface modifications induced by the impact of individual fast, heavy ions on muscovite mica was investigated. Beams of 593 MeV 197Auq+ with well-defined initial charge states over a relatively broad range of values

Curvature‐Tuned Friction at Electrified Ionic Liquid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene curvature plays a key role in friction electrotunability at single‐asperity contacts lubricated by ionic liquids. A 9 nm radius yields stronger tunability than larger radii, with distinct friction coefficients at low and high loads indicating a shift in the slippage plane.

Weak antilocalization and electron-electron interaction in coupled multiple-channel transport in a Bi$_2$Se$_3$ thin film

open access: yes, 2015
Electron transport properties of a topological insulator Bi$_2$Se$_3$ thin film are studied in Hall-bar geometry. The film with a thickness of 10 nm is grown by van der Waals epitaxy on fluorophlogopite mica and Hall-bar devices are fabricated from the ...

Mica-liquid trace elements partitioning and the granite-pegmatite connection: The St-Sylvestre complex (Western French Massif Central)

open access: yesChemical Geology, 2019
We constrain the genetic relation between granite and pegmatite parental melts from the Variscan Saint Sylvestre leucogranite complex and associated pegmatite bodies (Massif Central, France) through compositions of micas.

Engineering Extracellular Vesicle Production Through Magnetic Ion Channel Activation for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic Ion Channel Activation (MICA) enables remote stimulation of mechanosensitive ion channels using functionalised magnetic nanoparticles, enhancing extracellular vesicle (EV) biogenesis is pre‐osteoblasts. MICA desrived EVs exhibit typical nano‐vesicular characteristics but display superior pro‐osteogeneic activity, promoting mesenchymal stem ...

EPS inhibitor treatment of Salmonella impacts evolution without selecting for resistance to biofilm inhibition

open access: yesnpj Biofilms and Microbiomes
Virulence factors of pathogens, such as toxin production and biofilm formation, often exhibit a public character, providing benefits to nearby non-producers.
