Susceptibility to conditioned place preference induced by addictive drugs in mice of the C57BL/6 and DBA/2 inbred strains

Psychopharmacology, 2005
In previous studies, we have demonstrated that mice of the inbred strain C57BL/6J (C57) are more susceptible to amphetamine-induced conditioned place preference (CPP) than DBA/2J (DBA) mice. Moreover, we also observed parallel strain differences for the locomotor-stimulant effects of the drug.

A comparison of the discriminative stimulus properties of the atypical antipsychotic drug clozapine in DBA/2 and C57BL/6 inbred mice

Behavioural Pharmacology, 2008
Inbred mouse strain comparisons are an important aspect of pharmacogenetic research, especially in strains known to differ in regard to specific neurotransmitter systems. DBA/2 mice differ from C57BL/6 mice in terms of both functional and anatomical characteristics of dopamine systems.

Distinct patterns of Fos expression induced by systemic amphetamine in the striatal complex of C57BL/6JICo and DBA/2JICo inbred strains of mice

Brain Research, 2004
Mice from the inbred strains C57BL/6 and DBA/2 are characterized by striking differences in their behavioral response to addictive drugs. We used Fos expression as a tool to reveal strain differences in the postsynaptic effects of amphetamine (AMPH; 2.5 mg/kg) within the nucleus accumbens (NAc) (core and shell) and the dorsal caudate (dorsomedial and ...

Role of endogenous enkephalins in locomotion and nociception studied with peptidase inhibitors in two inbred strains of mice (C57BL/6J AND DBA/2J)

Neuropharmacology, 1989
Acetorphan, a parenterally active enkephalinase inhibitor, induced dose-dependently a naloxone-reversible analgesia on the hot-plate jump test in DBA/2J (DBA2) mice but was devoid of effects in C57BL/6J (C57) mice. By contrast, acetorphan increased locomotion in both strains; however, the DBA2 strain was much more sensitive than C57 mice to the ...

Role of the anterior and posterior Paraventricular Nucleus of the Thalamus on Sign-Tracking in inbred C57BL/6J and DBA/2J mice

2022
Aims: Sign-tracking (ST) behavior is a model of overwhelming attraction to rewards-associated stimuli due to incentive salience attribution as measured by the Pavlovian Conditioned Approach (PCA) paradigm. Previous studies suggested different strain-specific neurobiological substrates underlying ST behavior.

New quantitative trait loci that regulate wound healing in an intercross progeny from DBA/1J and 129×1/SvJ inbred strains of mice

Functional & Integrative Genomics, 2005
Wound healing/regeneration mouse models are few, and studies performed have mainly utilized crosses between MRL/MPJ (a good healer) and SJL/J (a poor healer) or MRL/lpr (a good healer) and C57BL/6J (a poor healer). Wound healing is a complex trait with many genes involved in the expression of the phenotype.

Ultradian rhythms in the N1-P2 amplitude of the visual evoked potential in two inbred strains of mice: DBA/2J and C57BL/6

Behavioural Brain Research, 1995
Ultradian rhythmicity has been showed in many behavioural parameters in animals as well as in humans. We investigated the existence of a Basic Rest-Activity Cycle (BRAC) rhythm in amplitude fluctuations of mice's visual evoked potential (VEP) primary component.
