Wei et al. establish a hair cell‐specific conditional knockout mouse model (Atp6v1b2fl/fl;Atoh1Cre/+), and demonstrate the importance of Atp6v1b2 for hair cell through maintaining the survival of lysosomes. A single administration of AAV‐ie‐Eh3‐mAtp6v1b2 through scala media at P0‐P2 realizes function compensation and restores hearing and balance ...

Energy Balance in Cell Phone Radiofrequency Radiation Exposed Mice and Rats [PDF]
The National Toxicology Program exposed mice and rats to cell phone radiofrequency radiation. They observer cancers in male rats but not in male mice and different increases in body temperature between mice and rats using identical frequency and intensity exposures.

Comprehensive epigenomic and transcriptomic profiling revealed a dynamic enhancer landscape and gene expression program associated with nephrolithiasis, highlighting RXRα as a central transcription factor in this regulatory network. Tubular‐specific deletion of RXRα increased intrarenal CaOx crystal deposition, while its activation with Bexarotene ...

In the context of chronic hyperglycemia, a DDR is initiated, leading to the pathological activation of DNA‐PKcs in the diabetic heart. This activated DNA‐PKcs directly interacts with and phosphorylates YAP1 at Thr226, thereby increasing the nuclear expression of YAP1.

The same but different: impact of animal facility sanitary status on a transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer's disease [PDF]
The gut-brain axis has emerged as a key player in the regulation of brain function and cognitive health. Gut microbiota dysbiosis has been observed in preclinical models of Alzheimer's disease and patients. Manipulating the composition of the gut microbiota enhances or delays neuropathology and cognitive deficits in mouse models.

Utilizing a stereotaxic injection mouse model and a novel mathematical approach, this study uncovers key subnetworks that drive pathological α‐synuclein (α‐Syn) progression in Parkinson's disease (PD). Remarkably, just 2% of the strongest connections in the connectome are sufficient to predict its spread.

Effect of Predators of Juvenile Rodents on the Spread of the Hantavirus Epidemic [PDF]
Effects of predators of juvenile mice on the spread of the Hantavirus are analyzed in the context of a recently proposed model. Two critical values of the predation probability are identified. When the smaller of them is exceeded, the hantavirus infection vanishes without extinguishing the mice population.
