Micra Extraction Out To 4.5 Years
Cardiac Electrophysiology ClinicsLeadless pacemaker systems (LPs) were developed as an alternative to traditional transvenous permanent pacemakers (TV-PPM) due to increasing rates of device and procedural related complications, leading to a high-cost burden to our health-care system. LPs were initially indicated for single-chamber ventricular pacing; however, recent developments have ...

Micra implantation in a patient with transposition of great arteries
Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 2018AbstractWe describe a 56‐year‐old male with transposition of the great arteries and Mustard repair, superior vena cava obstruction, atrial fibrillation, and progressive deterioration of his epicardial lead performance. We were successful in deploying of Micra (Medtronic, Minneapolis, MN, USA) at the septo‐apical area of his nonsystemic ventricle in a ...

OUTCOMES OF MICRA LEADLESS PACEMAKER IMPLANTATION WITH UNINTERRUPTED ANTICOAGULATION
Journal of the American College of Cardiology, 2019AbstractBackgroundImplantation of the MICRA Leadless pacemaker requires the use of a 27 French introducer, blunt delivery system and device fixation to the myocardium via nitinol tines. While prior studies have proven its safety, it is unclear whether performing this procedure with uninterrupted anticoagulation exposes patients to increased risks.

The Micra® leadless pacemaker has demonstrated both safety and efficacy in the short and mid-term as an alternative to conventional transvenous pacemakers. This technology provides a new solution, especially for patients without conventional venous approach and for older patients with atrial fibrillation presenting with symptomatic bradycardia.

Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology
ABSTRACT Severe bradycardia due to advanced atrioventricular (AV) block in neonates is rare but can be life‐threatening, requiring urgent pacing. In the smallest infants, transvenous pacing is not feasible, and epicardial systems remain the standard. However, the pacemaker size still remains a significant issue in these small patients.
