SRCNN: Stacked-Residual Convolutional Neural Network for Improving Human Activity Classification Based on Micro-Doppler Signatures of FMCW Radar [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science
Current methods for daily human activity classification primarily rely on optical images from cameras or wearable sensors. Despite their high detection reliability, camera-based approaches suffer from several drawbacks, such as low-light conditions ...

Neutrophil‐Mimetic MRI Enables Ultra‐Early Detection of Vascular Inflammation After Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 25, 3 July 2026.
In this study, we developed neutrophil‐mimetic MRI probes that detect ultra‐early neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke by targeting E‐selectin. Within seconds of their injection, these microparticles mimic initial leukocyte adhesion to the activated cerebral endothelium.

Vibrating micro-doppler signature extraction from SAR data using singular value decomposition

open access: yes, 2012
The effect of target micro-motions on the Synthetic Aperture Radar signal results in micro-Doppler target signatures. These micro-Doppler signatures can be a useful source of information for target classification.

Osteoarthritis: Epidemiology, Diagnosis, and Treatment

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a multifactorial degenerative joint disease and a leading cause of disability worldwide. This graphical abstract summarizes the epidemiology, diagnostic strategies, and therapeutic approaches of OA. OA development is driven by aging, metabolic dysregulation, and mechanical stress, leading to progressive joint degeneration ...

Enhancement of Drone ISAR Imaging Through Isolation and Suppression of Micro-Doppler Effects

open access: yesIEEE Access
Increasing concerns over the use of drones for military or hostile purposes have intensified the demand for effective detection and countermeasures. Although conventional acoustic, thermal, and optical sensors have been extensively explored, active radar

Prediction of incident heart failure in type 2 diabetes mellitus: Rationale and design of the DM‐HEART study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 17, Issue 7, Page 1154-1162, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Preclinical heart failure (HF) (stages A and B) is common but easily overlooked in asymptomatic patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). There is a paucity of evidence regarding how coexisting risk factors contribute to the development of HF in asymptomatic Asian patients with T2D, and there is a lack of guidance on the early identification of ...
