Analytic radar micro-Doppler signatures classification
SPIE Proceedings, 2017Due to its capability of capturing the kinematic properties of a target object, radar micro-Doppler signatures (m-DS) play an important role in radar target classification. This is particularly evident from the remarkable number of research papers published every year on m-DS for various applications.

Human Action Categorization Using Ultrasound Micro-Doppler Signatures
2011The spectrotemporal representation of an ultrasonar wave reflected by an object contains frequency shifts corresponding to the velocity of the object's moving parts, also known as the micro-Doppler signature. The present study describes how the micro-Doppler signature of human subjects, collected in two experiments, can be used to categorize the action

Empirical mode decomposition of micro-doppler signature
IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005., 2005Micro-Doppler induced by mechanical vibration or rotation of structures in a radar target is potentially useful for target detection, classification and recognition. In order to exploit the time-varying micro-Doppler signature, time frequency analysis techniques are used. However, they can not represent this useful information clearly all the time.

Target classification based on micro-doppler signatures
IEEE International Radar Conference, 2005., 2005In this paper, we propose a Gabor filtering method to extract localized micro-Doppler signatures represented in the time-frequency domain. The dimensionality of the extracted Gabor features is further reduced by using the principal component analysis (PCA) method.

Sonar Micro-Doppler Signatures: Principles and Applications
2014In this chapter we introduce the theory behind sonar micro-Doppler signatures and highlight advantages and disadvantages with respect to their radar counterpart. We present the results of two experimental trials carried out at (1) the U.S. Army Research Laboratory and (2) University College London in which sonar micro-Doppler signatures of personnel ...

Phenomenology of Radar Micro-Doppler Signatures
2014In this chapter, we introduce mathematics of the micro-Doppler effect in radar, derive basic formulas of micro-Doppler shifts due to vibration, rotation, tumbling and conning, and extract micro-Doppler signatures using time-frequency analysis.

Micro-Doppler signatures for sensing micro-motion
2019The micro-Doppler signature is a distinctive characteristic of micro-motion represented by intricate time-varying Doppler frequency modulations. It can be used to extract motion kinematic features for identifying an object of interest. In this Chapter, we introduce the micro-Doppler signature in radar and its applications for sensing micro-motion.
