Radar Micro-Doppler Signature Analysis with HHT

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2010
Radar micro-Doppler signature analysis of vibrating targets with the joint time-frequency methods can provide useful information for target detection, classification, and recognition. We employ a well-known method for nonlinear and nonstationary signals, Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) as a new approach in micro-Doppler analysis.

UAV Micro-Doppler Signature Analysis

2020 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf20), 2020
The radar phenomenology of UAVs interacts with the micro-Doppler signal processing in interesting and useful ways. This paper adjusts the micro-Doppler processing to establish more consistent UAV micro-Doppler signatures and improve the separability of relevant features. The outlined approach is developed in the context of UAV rotor analysis.

Micro-Doppler Signature Classification

2006 CIE International Conference on Radar, 2006
The micro-Doppler signature of a target is a time varying frequency modulation imparted on the radar echo signal by moving components of the target. Battlefield radar output the radar's baseband signal as audio and soldiers listening on headphones are able to identify the target from its micro-Doppler signature.

Template based micro-Doppler signature classification

IET Seminar on High Resolution Imaging and Target Classification, 2006
The micro-Doppler signature of a target is a time varying frequency modulation imparted on the radar echo signal by moving components of the target. Battlefield radar output the baseband signal as audio and soldiers listening on headphones are able to identify the target from its micro-Doppler signature.

Multistatic Micro-Doppler Signature of personnel

2008 IEEE Radar Conference, 2008
For the first time the multistatic Micro-Doppler Signature (mu-DS) of personnel targets has been collected using University College Londonpsilas NetRAD radar system. The data demonstrates that using a multistatic mu-DS is a viable approach to overcoming the problem of self-occlusion, where a target obstructs its own mu-DS, in automatic target ...

Multiperspective micro-Doppler signature classification

IET International Conference on Radar Systems 2007, 2007
Multiperspective automatic target recognition is considered to assist underlying classifiers by providing more views of the target. For the first time data from netted radar has been analysed for micro-Doppler signature content and a multiperspective dynamic time warping classifier developed.

Experimental Observations of Micro-Doppler Signatures With Passive Radar

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2019
Passive radar's ability to observe micro-Doppler phenomena from helicopters, fixed-wing propeller aircraft, and jet engine modulation is examined. Experimental results from a digital television based passive radar demonstrate its potential to observe characteristic signatures of multiple types of air targets and estimate helicopters’ primary rotor ...

Micro-Doppler Signatures of Small Boats

2014
In this chapter, the authors first use the small boats and sea clutter database collected by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of South Africa to demonstrate radar microDoppler signatures of small boats in sea clutter. Then, microDoppler images of small boats were compared in the littoral environment.

Acoustic Micro-Doppler Gait Signatures of Humans and Animals

2007 41st Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, 2007
A micro-Doppler active acoustic sensing system is described. We report its use in acquiring gait signatures of humans and four-legged animals in indoor and outdoor environments. Signals from an accelerometer attached to the leg support the interpretation of the components in the measured micro-Doppler signature.

Simulation of human micro-Doppler signatures with Kinect sensor

2014 IEEE Radar Conference, 2014
The availability and access to real radar data collected for targets with a desired characteristic is often limited by monetary and practical resources, especially in the case of airborne radar. In such cases, the generation of accurate simulated radar data is critical to the successful design and testing of radar signal processing algorithms.
