Arm Motion Classification Using Time-Series Analysis of the Spectrogram Frequency Envelopes

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Hand and arm gesture recognition using radio frequency (RF) sensing modality proves valuable in man−machine interfaces and smart environments. In this paper, we use the time-series analysis method to accurately measure the similarity of the micro ...

Deep Learning-Based Drone Classification Using Radar Cross Section Signatures at mmWave Frequencies

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper presents drone classification at millimeter-wave (mmWave) radars using the deep learning (DL) technique. The adoption mmWave technology in radar systems enables better resolution and aid in detecting smaller drones.

Bistatic human micro-Doppler signatures for classification of indoor activities [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf), 2017
This paper presents the analysis of human micro- Doppler signatures collected by a bistatic radar system to classify different indoor activities. Tools for automatic classification of different activities will enable the implementation and deployment of systems for monitoring life patterns of people and identifying fall events or anomalies which may be

Evaluation of systemic consequences of brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome in dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS) results from upper airway anatomical abnormalities and may cause systemic effects depending on severity. Methods A prospective, case‒control and observational study was conducted.

Chromospheric Inversions of a Micro-flaring Region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We use spectropolarimetric observations of the Ca II 8542~\AA\ line, taken from the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope (SST), in an attempt to recover dynamic activity in a micro-flaring region near a sunspot via inversions. These inversions show localized mean

Physiological cardiotocography interpretation and neonatal morbidity: A historical pre–post cohort study in a tertiary perinatal center

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
In this historical pre–post cohort study, the implementation of physiological cardiotocography (PCI) interpretation was associated with reduced neonatal morbidity, neonatal acidosis, and neonatal unit admission. Adjusted cesarean section rates did not increase, supporting PCI as a promising approach to intrapartum fetal surveillance.

Time-Frequency Spectral Signature of Limb Movements and Height Estimation Using Micro-Doppler Millimeter-Wave Radar

open access: yesSensors, 2020
We present a technique for the identification of human and animal movement and height using a low power millimeter-wave radar. The detection was based on the transmission of a continuous wave and heterodyning the received signal reflected from the target

Micro-doppler radar to evaluate risk for musculoskeletal injury: Protocol for a case-control study with gold standard comparison.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
BackgroundBeyond causing significant morbidity and cost, musculoskeletal injuries (MSKI) are among the most common reasons for primary care visits. A validated injury risk assessment tool for MSKI is conspicuously absent from current care.

Mitral regurgitation and decompensated heart failure in a young pregnant pony mare: An aetiological challenge

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.
Summary A 4‐year‐old, 6‐month pregnant, Welsh pony mare presented with severe acute clinical signs including depression, anorexia, pale mucous membranes, tachycardia with a grade 4/6 holosystolic murmur and moderate expiratory dyspnoea with diffuse wheezes. There was no evidence of placentitis or fetal distress.

Deep Caries Management: EFCD‐ESE‐ORCA S3‐Level Clinical Practice Guideline

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To develop an evidence‐based S3‐level clinical practice guideline for the management of deep and extremely deep caries in vital permanent teeth. Methods An evidence‐based medical guideline based on systematically searched and appraised evidence as well as a structured consensus (S3‐level) was jointly developed by the European ...
