The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Experimental and numerical analysis of micromechanical damage in the punching process for High-Strength Low-Alloy steels [PDF]
Sequential sheet metal forming processes can result in the accumulation of work hardening and damage effects in the workpiece material. The mechanical strength of the final component depends on the “evolution” of these two characteristics in the ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Ultra-micro hardness tester measuring displacement of indentation.
A new type of ultra-micro hardness tester has been developed in order to obtain precise indentation hardness of thin films and brittle materials. A differential coil with an accuracy of 0.01 μm is used in measurement of indentation depth instead of width.

Perbedaan Pengaruh Bahan Irigasi Ekstrak Propolis 8% dan NaOCl 2,5% terhadap Kekerasan Mikrodentin Saluran Akar [PDF]
The most commonly used irrigant for root canal preparation is sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). This solution may affect the dentin micro hardness. Propolis extract as an alternative materials have been used as an irrigant because of their anti-bacterial ...

Low cycle fatigue life improvement of AISI 304 by initial and intermittent wire brush hammering [PDF]
The effects of hammering by wire brush as a method of improving low cycle fatigue life of highly ductile austenitic stainless steel AISI 304 have been investigated through an experimental study combining imposed strain fatigue tests and assessment of ...

A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.

A critical evaluation of the microstructural gradient along the build direction in electron beam melted Ti-6Al-4V alloy [PDF]
It is generally recognised that electron beam melted (EBM) Ti-6Al-4V alloys exhibit a microstructural gradient along the build direction, but there have been some inconsistent experimental observations and debate as to the origin and magnitude of this ...
