Radiation damage during micro-PIXE measurements on biological materials
Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, 1985Abstract The proton microprobe is very useful for both the localisation and the concentration assignment of trace elements in biological materials. By analogy with the experience of electron microscopists the question arose as to whether radiation damage would be the limiting factor in determining the trace element content in biological tissues. This

Investigation of turquoise gemstone using micro-PIXE imaging technique
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2020Abstract Elemental distribution of turquoise gemstone is investigated using micro-PIXE technique. The RGB maps of the elements characteristic for turquoise gemstone were produced by means of PyMCA software. The experiments were performed on a suite of samples from different origins.

Micro-PIXE Analysis of Ancient Roman Coins
2014The presence of surface silver-enriched layer is quite common in objects made of a silver-copper alloy. In this work, some silver coins have been sectioned to study their microstructure and especially to assess the presence or absence of corrosion layers, enriched layers and non-homogeneities between surface and bulk.
