Micro-EDM-assisted machining micro-holes in printed circuit board

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2021
Printed circuit board (PCB) can provide assembly support and electrical connection for components in electronic systems. The machining of micro-holes in PCB is a necessary process and key step for its application in electronic components. Therefore, micro-holes are the key structures of PCB. At present, high-speed drilling based on micro-bit is the key

Micro-hole machining using micro-EDM combined with electropolishing

Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 2006
This paper presents a novel process of using micro-electro-discharge- machining (micro-EDM) combined with electropolishing to improve the surface roughness of micro-holes. During the machining process, a tool is fabricated by wire electro-discharge grinding (WEDG) directly by using micro-EDM for machining the micro-hole and by electropolishing to ...

Micro-Electrical Discharge Machining for Machining Micro-Holes

2019
It is very challenging to machine high aspect ratio and complex-shaped holes with micro-electrical discharge machining process. Micro-hole drilling plays a vital role in the production of various aspect ratio (length/depth) micro-holes. This work presents an attempt to fabricate high aspect ratio micro-holes using micro-EDM process on a brass workpiece

Research the Molybdenum Alloy Micro EDM Micro-Holes

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
In the field of micromachining, micro electrical discharge machining (MEDM) is an important and perfect machining method for high rigid or high wearable materials, which is better than traditional methods of machining. MEDM technology is used to manufacture on-line electrodes and then minimum micro shafts with diameter of 15μm were made with these ...

Boundary-layer bleed through micro holes

37th Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 1999
Computations were performed to investigate the effects of bleeding a supersonic-boundary-layer flow into a plenum through four rows of micro holes that are arranged in a staggered fashion. The diameter of each hole (D) is l/100 of the approaching boundary-layer thickness.

Positioning for array micro-holes punching

Proceedings of 2011 6th International Forum on Strategic Technology, 2011
The forming technique of micro-punching is an important method for precision plastic machining of micro-parts, the micro-hole size must be sub-millimeter in two-dimension. To punch less than 200µm micro-holes on thin plate and realize precise positioning, established positioning system based on micro-vision technology and detected the location of thin ...

Punching of noncircular micro-holes and development of micro-forming

Precision Engineering, 2007
In this paper, vibration-EDM technology was introduced by the vibrating worktable designed to fabricate noncircular micro-electrodes and micro die-openings using wire electro-discharge grinding (WEDG). Micro punches and micro die-openings with different clearances were fabricated by controlling the spark gap in micro electrical discharge machining ...

Drilling an Array of Square Micro-holes Using Micro-EDM

2020
Micro-holes are nowadays widely used in masking, ink nozzles, flow separations, straining, and biomedical devices. This paper mainly focuses on the drilling of arrays (also termed as gang drilling) of square holes in microscale using micro-electrical discharge machining (µ-EDM).

WORLD-CRYSTAL UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE AND MICRO BLACK HOLES

International Journal of Modern Physics D, 2011
We formulate generalized uncertainty relations in a crystal-like universe whose lattice spacing is of order of Planck length — a "world crystal". For energies near the border of the Brillouin zone, i.e. for Planckian energies, the uncertainty relation for position and momentum does not pose any lower bound.
