Micro milling is discussed to fabricate micro-scale structures on titanium alloy thin wires. A machine tool was developed to conduct the milling operations with improving the clamping stiffness. A 0.3 mm diameter wire inserted into polyurethane tubes was clamped on an R-shaped groove on the machine table.

Fabrication of Complex Micro Channels by Micro Electric Discharge Milling (µ-ED Milling)
Volume 2B: Advanced Manufacturing, 2013Micro electric discharge milling (μ-ED milling) is an effective and economic process for the fabrication of micro channels. In the present work, the bulk approach of μ-ED milling is being attempted to make complex shaped micro channels. For a straight channel the bulk approach of μ-ED milling was found to be a successful approach.

Manufacturability analysis system for micro-milling
Proceedings of the 2011 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics, 2011Manufacturability analysis systems (MASs) have been developed to ensure that the ‘ready for manufacture’ designs are exempted from repetitive iterations occurring at the interface between design and manufacturing activities when the sequential approach of the product development lifecycle is taken into account.

Research on Micro Electrochemical Milling
Key Engineering Materials, 2008A new process of fabricating microstructures through micro electrochemical milling (micro EC milling) is proposed. By utilizing side wall of simple micro tool electrode rotating at high speed like micro mechanical milling and controlling the movement track on NC three-axis feed worktable, microstructures with high precision can be milled by micro-ECM ...

Tribology of Micro Milled Surfaces
Key Engineering Materials, 2010Micro milling is an appropriate technology for the flexible production of precise micro molds with complex shapes for metal forming processes (e.g. micro deep drawing). Besides high form accuracy micro ball end milling also provides a specific surface topography which can enhance the tribological behavior during the forming processes.

Optimization of Micro Milling Process
2020Mechanical micro-drilling is one of the most widely used methods among several micro-hole making methods because of its least dependency on the material properties. Various factors such as tool diameter, spindle speed, tool helix angle, twist angle and feed rate determine the hole quality, and thus, they have to be chosen very carefully.
