DNA methylation microarray-based screening of epigenetically masked genes in patients with anti-tuberculosis drug-induced liver injury

open access: yesDi-san junyi daxue xuebao, 2019
Objective To investigate the differentially methylated genes between patients with anti-tuberculosis drug induced liver injury (ADLI) and patients without hepatic injury using DNA methylation microarrays and explore the relationship between DNA ...

Autosomal Recessive Spastic Ataxia of Charlevoix‐Saguenay in Two Half‐Siblings

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix‐Saguenay (ARSACS) is caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in the SACS gene. We report the clinical, radiologic and neurophysiologic features of a pair of half‐siblings who presented with progressive cerebellar ataxia, peripheral neuropathy and upper motor neuron signs.

Microarray Evaluation of Antimicrobial Resistance and Virulence of Escherichia coli Isolates from Portuguese Poultry

open access: yesAntibiotics, 2016
The presence of antimicrobial resistance and virulence factors of 174 Escherichia coli strains isolated from healthy Portuguese Gallus gallus was evaluated. Resistance profiles were determined against 33 antimicrobials by microbroth dilution.

Genetic Normalization of Differentiating Aneuploid Human Embryos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Early embryogenesis involves a series of dynamic processes, many of which are currently not well described or understood. Aneuploidy and aneuploid mosaicism, a mixture of aneuploid and euploid cells within one embryo, in early embryonic development are ...

Insights Into the Antigenic Repertoire of Unclassified Synaptic Antibodies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective We sought to characterize the sixth most common finding in our neuroimmunological laboratory practice (tissue assay‐observed unclassified neural antibodies [UNAs]), combining protein microarray and phage immunoprecipitation sequencing (PhIP‐Seq). Methods Patient specimens (258; 133 serums; 125 CSF) meeting UNA criteria were profiled;

LOXHD1 and RHOB Expression by Monocytes Predicts Progressive Systemic Sclerosis associated Interstitial Lung Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective A leading cause of death among scleroderma (SSc) patients, interstitial lung disease (ILD) remains challenging to prognosticate. The discovery of biomarkers that accurately determine which patients would benefit from close monitoring and aggressive therapy would be an essential clinical tool.

Does Logarithm Transformation of Microarray Data Affect Ranking Order of Differentially Expressed Genes?

open access: yes, 2006
A common practice in microarray analysis is to transform the microarray raw data (light intensity) by a logarithmic transformation, and the justification for this transformation is to make the distribution more symmetric and Gaussian-like.
