Diversity and Function of Microbial Community in Chinese Strong-Flavor Baijiu Ecosystem: A Review
Strong flavor baijiu (SFB), also called Luzhou-flavor liquor, is the most popular Chinese baijiu. It is manufactured via solid fermentation, with daqu as the starter. Microbial diversity of the SFB ecosystem and the synergistic effects of the enzymes and

Application of the microbial community coalescence concept to riverine networks
Flows of water, soil, litter, and anthropogenic materials in and around rivers lead to the mixing of their resident microbial communities and subsequently to a resultant community distinct from its precursors.

A zero‐waste, eco‐friendly, binder‐free, scalable, rapid, and one‐pot laser carbonization approach fabricates a coppercuprous oxide/carbon electrocatalyst derived from HKUST‐1 metal‐organic framework for efficient nitrate reduction to ammonia. The catalyst exhibits high ammonia yield, excellent Faradaic efficiency, and robust stability.

Inoculum composition determines microbial community and function in an anaerobic sequential batch reactor. [PDF]
The sustainable recovery of resources from wastewater streams can provide many social and environmental benefits. A common strategy to recover valuable resources from wastewater is to harness the products of fermentation by complex microbial communities.

Activated sludge microbial community assembly: the role of influent microbial community immigration. [PDF]
AbstractWastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are host to diverse microbial communities and receive a constant influx of microbes from influent wastewater, however the impact of immigrants on the structure and activities of the activated sludge (AS) microbial community remains unclear.

Metagenomic microbial community profiling using unique clade-specific marker genes
Metagenomic shotgun sequencing data can identify microbes populating a microbial community and their proportions, but existing taxonomic profiling methods are inefficient for increasingly large data sets.

Microbiome Single Cell Atlases Generated with a Commercial Instrument
Single cell sequencing is valuable for dissecting complex systems and uncovering unique features in individual cell types. However, tools for single cell microbial analysis are limited. Easily Accessible Single microbe sequencing (EASi‐seq), which adapts a commercially available single cell platform for efficient sequencing of single microbial genomes ...
