Multiomics Analyses Reveal an Essential Role of Tryptophan in Treatment of csDMARDs in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease characterized by joint inflammation. Approximately 50% of patients show insufficient response to traditional synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs. This study aims to elucidate differential molecular profiles of the mechanisms underlying drug responses through multi‐omics strategy.

Pre‐Administration of Akkermansia Muciniphila Prevents the Development of Severe Acute Graft‐Versus‐Host Disease in Systemic Organs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Akkermansia muciniphila, a next‐generation probiotic, alleviates acute graft‐versus‐host disease (aGvHD) following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) by providing protective effects across multiple organs. Pre‐colonization with A.

A novel framework unveiling the importance of heterogeneous selection and drift on the community structure of symbiotic microbial indicator taxa across altitudinal gradients in amphibians

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
Existing analytical frameworks for community assembly have a noticeable knowledge gap, lacking a comprehensive assessment of the relative contributions of individual or grouped microbial distinct sampling units (DSUs) and distinct taxonomic units (DTUs ...

Assessing species biomass contributions in microbial communities via metaproteomics

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Convenient methods for assessing microbial community structure in terms of biomass are lacking. Here, the authors present a metaproteomics-based approach for assessing microbial community structure using protein abundance as a measure for biomass ...

Relating Methanogen Community Structure and Anaerobic Digester Function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Much remains unknown about the relationships between microbial community structure and anaerobic digester function. However, knowledge of links between community structure and function, such as specific methanogenic activity (SMA) and COD removal rate ...

Bacteria and Fungi Synergistically Reprogram Flavonoid Metabolites in the Pericarp of Citrus Reticulata 'Chachi' During Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors employed widely targeted metabolomics, microbial amplicon sequencing, and fermentation assays to investigate the microbiome 's influence on PCRC 's (pericarp of Citrus reticulata ' Chachi ') flavonoid profile over 0–19 years of storage. Based on the correlation analysis, solid‐state and liquid‐state fermentation, and catalytic activity ...

Long‐Term Elevated CO2 Improves Soil Health and Rice Yields in Paddy Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combining the two longest‐running rice free‐air CO2 enrichment experiments with a global data synthesis, this study demonstrates that long‐term elevated CO2 consistently enhances soil health. In rice paddies, this improvement sustains the CO2 fertilization effect over decades.

Structure, function and diversity of the healthy human microbiome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Studies of the human microbiome have revealed that even healthy individuals differ remarkably in the microbes that occupy habitats such as the gut, skin and vagina. Much of this diversity remains unexplained, although diet, environment, host genetics and
