Repositioning Antimicrobial Peptides Against WHO‐Priority Fungi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The growing burden of drug‐resistant fungal infections, driven by pathogens such as Candida auris, Cryptococcus neoformans, and Aspergillus fumigatus, underscores the urgent need for novel antifungal therapies. This review explores antimicrobial peptides as promising agents with membrane‐disruptive activity, immunomodulatory properties, and delivery ...

Dual Hydrophilic‐Hydrophobic Core Architecture in Soy Glycinin Amyloid Fibrils Revealed by Cryo‐EM

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
While high‐resolution structures of animal and microbial amyloids are extensively characterized, the structural principles underlying plant‐derived amyloids remain largely unexplored. The study addresses this fundamental gap in knowledge by determining the first near‐atomic‐resolution cryo‐EM structures of amyloid fibrils derived from soy glycinin ...
