Assessment of the effects of microwave‐produced biodiesel blends on electric generator performance and emissions

open access: yesEnvironmental Progress &Sustainable Energy, EarlyView.
Abstract Biodiesels are emerging as alternatives to diesel fuel. However, to be a feasible solution, biodiesels must meet strict criteria including high efficiency and minimal environmental impact. The current study focuses on evaluating ethyl ester biodiesel and its blends with diesel fuel to assess their potential.

Ketogenic diet fails to mitigate seizures and neuroinflammatory responses in a mouse model of virus‐induced epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective The ketogenic diet (KD) is a high‐fat, low‐carbohydrate intervention widely used to treat drug‐resistant epilepsy, thought to reduce seizures through a combination of metabolic, neuronal, and microbiota‐dependent mechanisms. Additionally, recent studies suggest that the anticonvulsant effects of KD require the gut microbiota, with ...

Stacking Efficiency of Oryza sativa Plant Microbial Fuel Cells in Paddy Fields: Power Generation and Methane Reduction as Measures for Greener Technology

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
The 3D‐printed MFCs in paddies during rice cultivation generated a maximum power density of 26 µW/m2 within 3 days via a series–parallel configuration and theoretically reduced methane by 0.012–0.016 kg for 1 m2 of land use through an LCA based on existing methane reduction data in rice paddies.

Duct‐level evaluation of mammary gland health, somatic cell count and bacterial flora in lactating jennies

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Assessing mammary gland health in donkeys is challenging due to the lack of species‐specific diagnostic criteria for subclinical mastitis. Although somatic cell count (SCC) is widely used in dairy ruminants, its diagnostic value in jennies remains unclear.
