Establishment of a coculture system for Porphyromonas gingivalis and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma using spheroid culture and LATS inhibition

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We established a spheroid coculture system enabling viable Porphyromonas gingivalis–HNSCC interactions under normoxic conditions. Inhibition of LATS1/2 maintains tumor cells in an undifferentiated state, which may promote spheroid growth and create a more permissive environment for bacterial persistence.

Comparative analysis of etiological factors of infectious urocystitis of dogs and cats

open access: yesRegulatory Mechanisms in Biosystems
Worldwide, urocystitis is the most common disease of the urinary system. Urocystitis is a generalized name, since the disease has a varied etiology and can be complicated by bacterial microflora, passing from a non-infectious pathological process to an ...

Organic residues - a resource for arable soils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
An increased recirculation of urban organic residues to arable soils has several environmental benefits, but there is a need for reliable test systems to ensure that soil quality is maintained.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Microbiological quality of pediatric oral liquid formulations [PDF]

open access: yesFarmacia Hospitalaria, 2016
The oral administration of drugs to the pediatric population involves the extemporaneous preparation of liquid formulations. These formulations have studies on their physicochemical stability, but they often lack microbiological studies. The objective of

Aeromycology: studies of fungi in aeroplankton [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Air is a natural environment for spores of many genera and species of fungi. Despite its small size and a significant dispersion they have a great impact on human health and different areas of our activities, such as agricultural production. The study on
