Free‐Form Microfluidic Microneedle Array Patches

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microfluidic microneedle array patches (MAPs) integrate hollow microneedles with embedded microfluidic channels, fabricated using high‐resolution 3D printing, to enable controlled transdermal delivery of liquid, mixed, or reconstituted therapeutics.

Skin microbiota: a source of disease or defence?

open access: yes, 2008
Microbes found on the skin are usually regarded as pathogens, potential pathogens or innocuous symbiotic organisms. Advances in microbiology and immunology are revising our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of microbial virulence and the specific

Advanced Oral Delivery Systems for Nutraceuticals

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Emerging delivery technologies are explored to overcome barriers to oral nutraceutical absorption. Traditional carriers are compared with novel platforms including biodegradable polymers, MOFs, MPNs, and 3D printing. These systems enhance bioavailability, control release, and enable personalized nutrition.

Intraosseous Injection of Clindamycin Phosphate Into the Chronic Apical Lesion of Lower Molar - a Case Report

open access: yesBiomolecules & Biomedicine, 2008
Periapical disease is the result of bacteria, their product, and the host response to them. Early histological studies of diseased periapical tissue have not been able to demonstrate viable bacteria in the lesions studied.

Thiolated Hyaluronic Acid: A Gateway for Targeted Killing of Staphylococcus aureus on the Race for Surface Colonization

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Thiolated hyaluronic acid (HAMS) synthesized and characterized by NMR, solubility, thiol content, and pKa, is degraded by Staphylococcal hyaluronate lyase but not by mammalian hyaluronidase. Coating polyphosphate–M23 phage endolysin nanoparticles (M23‐PP) with HAMS confers Staphylococcus aureus responsiveness.

Metronidazole‐Loaded Cyclodextrin Nanogels for Antibacterial Therapy and Microbiota Regulation in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A methacrylamide β‐cyclodextrin‐based nanogel (MACD nGel) is developed to load the antimicrobial drug Metronidazole (MNZ) for topical delivery for the treatment of periodontitis. It is demonstrated that cyclodextrin nanogel (nGel) loaded with metronidazole provides an efficient drug delivery route but also has potential clinical applications and offers
