Mixed‐Polymer Hole Transport Layers Reinforce Au‐Anode Top Emitting Perovskite Light Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Au‐anode corrosion is shown to occur rapidly under voltage bias in MAPbI3 perovskite LEDs. Resulting Au+ migration quickly leads to device shorting and unstable emission during constant current driving. We demonstrate that using a simple mixed‐polymer hole transport layer containing polyTPD and PVK can reduce Au‐corrosion and stabilize LED operation ...

Optical pulse generation and signal processing for the development of high-speed OTDM networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Due to the continued growth of the Internet and the introduction of new broadband services, it is anticipated that individual channel data rates may exceed lOOGbit/s in the next 5-10 years.

Microcavity-Mediated Spectrally Tunable Amplification of Absorption in Plasmonic Nanoantennas

open access: yes, 2019
Nanoantenna–microcavity hybrid systems offer unique platforms for the study and manipulation of light at the nanoscale, since their constituents have either low mode volume or long photon storage time.

PDGFRα+/Integrin α2+ Fibroblasts Orchestrate Tumor Budding in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma via Mechano‐Metabolic Symbiosis: E‐Cadherin/Integrin α2β1 Adhesion and Mitochondrial Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PDGFA/PDGFRα signaling recruits CAFs to OSCC nests, and CAF‐OSCC contact drives tumor budding invasion. Mechanistically, heterotypic adhesion via E‐cadherin/integrin α2β1 activates YAP signaling in OSCC cells, inducing EMT. Concurrently, CAFs transfer mitochondria through TNTs, supplying ATP to fuel invasion.

Microcavity-enhanced Kerr nonlinearity in a vertical-external-cavity surface-emitting laser

open access: yes, 2018
Self-mode-locking has become an emerging path to the generation of ultrashort pulses with vertical-external-cavity surface-emitting lasers. In our work, a strong Kerr nonlinearity that is so far assumed to give rise to mode-locked operation is evidenced ...

Patterns in Broad-Area Microcavities [PDF]

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), 2000
The emergence of spatial structures with an approximate hexagonal symmetry is observed in broad area amplifying microcavities with injection of a homogeneous beam. The length scale is controllable via detuning. Optical bistability occurs close to the longitudinal resonance.

Flexible Thin‐Film Heater Composed of Laser‐Induced Graphene and Poly(D, L‐Lactic Acid) with Electro‐ and Photo‐Thermal Properties toward Cancer Thermotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a thin‐film‐type heat‐generating device that uses laser induced graphene (LIG) on a poly(D, L‐lactic) acid film, which realizes both resistance heating by direct current application and photothermal conversion heating by near‐infrared light irradiation.

Segmented Therapeutic Delivery via Acoustic Microbubble Relay

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An acoustically driven, modular segmented delivery system is presented to overcome mechanical limitations of conventional microcatheters. Oscillating microbubbles generate directional streaming that enables continuous, targeted transport across open, angled segments.

Exceptional points of third-order in a layered optical microdisk cavity

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2018
A striking signature of the non-Hermitian physics in open systems is the existence of exceptional points (EPs) in parameter space. In contrast to a conventional degeneracy, an EP involves not only the coalescence of the eigenvalues but simultaneously ...
