Progress Toward Efficient Wide‐Gap Cu(In,Ga)(S,Se)2 Thin‐Film Solar Cells

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 567-588, May 2026.
Wide‐gap Cu (In,Ga)(S,Se)2 thin‐film solar cells are studied in view of their performance, limitations, and opportunities for further optimization. Different sources of open circuit voltage limitations were discussed and weighted. Interface recombination appears the main recombination channel, which however can be influenced heavy alkali treatment ...

Is otolith microchemistry (Sr: Ca and Ba:Ca ratios) useful to identify Mugil curema populations in the southeastern Caribbean Sea?

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the potential use of otolith microchemistry (Sr:Ca and Ba:Ca ratios) to identify silver mullet, Mugil curema, populations in Southeastern Caribbean Sea.

Maladaptive Inflammatory Signaling in Old Mice Impairs Colonic Regeneration by Promoting a Sustained Fetal‐Like Epithelial State

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 5, May 2026.
This study explores the impact of aging on regeneration of the mouse colonic epithelium. The authors find that old mice exhibit excessive and prolonged inflammation after infection with Citrobacter, resulting in the maintenance of a fetal regenerative state in epithelial cells, insufficient tissue repair, and death of the animal.

OTUD6 deubiquitination of RPS7/eS7 on the free 40 S ribosome regulates global protein translation and stress

open access: yesNature Communications
Ribosomes are regulated by evolutionarily conserved ubiquitination/deubiquitination events. We uncover the role of the deubiquitinase OTUD6 in regulating global protein translation through deubiquitination of the RPS7/eS7 subunit on the free 40 S ...

Spatial Changes in Trace Elemental Water Chemistry in the Piedmont Ecoregion with Applications for Understanding Fish Movement

open access: yesHydrobiology
Trace elemental water chemistry in aquatic systems is primarily derived from the underlying geology of surrounding watersheds. Trace elements can be absorbed from the environment and become permanently incorporated into certain calcified structures of ...

Control of oviductal fluid flow by the G-protein coupled receptor Adgrd1 is essential for murine embryo transit

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Lack of correct embryo transport can cause ectopic pregnancy. Here, the authors show that female mice lacking the adhesion G-protein coupled receptor Adgrd1 are infertile, due to embryos being trapped in the ampulla as the result of dysregulated ...

Integrating Sr isotopes, microchemistry, and genetics to reconstruct Salmonidae species and life history

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue S2, Page S104-S129, May 2026.
Abstract Recent approaches to fisheries research emphasize the importance of the coproduction of knowledge in building resilient and culturally mindful fisheries management frameworks. Despite widespread recognition of the need for Indigenous knowledge and historical reference points as baseline data, archaeological data are rarely included in ...

Evolution of the microstructure and electromagnetic properties of Fe–Si–Al particles during post ball-milling annealing

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
FeSiAl alloys with a composition of Fe-9.6Si-5.4Al, also known as Sendust alloys, present the unique potential to exhibit efficient electromagnetic wave absorption (EMA) in the P-band.

Recruitment Sources of Invasive Bighead Carp (Hypopthalmichthys nobilis) and Silver Carp (H. molitrix) Inhabiting the Illinois River [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Knowledge of natal environments and dispersal of invasive Bighead Carp (Hypopthalmichthys nobilis) and Silver Carp (H. molitrix) inhabiting the Illinois River would be valuable for directing population reduction efforts intended to supplement electrical ...

Estimating Somatic Weight From Total Weight in the European Eel (Anguilla anguilla)

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Data on the size of an animal is essential when analysing population dynamics, growth rates or the body condition of individuals for size‐structured populations. Two common weight measurements are total body weight and somatic weight. Compared to total weight, somatic weight needs lethal sampling and is more time‐consuming to assess, but can ...
