Micrococcus radiodurans 5′-nucleotidase

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1973
Abstract A 5′-nucleotidase (5′-ribonucleotide phosphohydrolase, EC 3.1.3.5) isolated from Micrococcus radiodurans appears to have properties more closely resembling some of the corresponding vertebrate enzymes than the reported bacterial enzymes. The M. radiodurans enzyme is a strict nucleoside 5′-phosphomonoesterase with a pH optimum between 8 and 9.

Variation of Staphylococcus (Micrococcus Pyogenes)

Archives of Internal Medicine, 1960
Staphylococcus now exceeds other Grampositive cocci as an important cause of disease and death, yet basic information of its ecology, pathogenesis, and immune relationships is incomplete. 1 Intensive studies of its dissociative pattern had not been made in contrast with those of Pneumococcus and Streptococcus whose main colonial variant forms are known

Phosphate transport in Micrococcus lysodeikticus

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1977
Phosphate accumulates in Micrococcus lysodeikticus cells against a concentration gradient, by an energy-dependent process. The phosphate transport is derepressed during phosphate deprivation. The depression process is inhibited by chloramphenicol. The apparent Km of phosphate transport is 4.3 micronM.
