Printed Interconnects for Heterogeneous Systems Integration on Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
Key components (sensors, energy devices, communication devices, computing chips, and interconnects) of flexible hybrid electronic (FHE) system connected via conductive printed metal tracks. The figure in the insets shows out‐of‐plane printed interconnects providing opportunities for lithography‐free formation of VIAs, in‐plane access of UTCs pads, and ...

Low Frequency Microstimulation Is Locally Excitatory in Patients With Epilepsy

open access: yesFrontiers in Neural Circuits, 2018
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) could become a palliative treatment for patients with drug-resistant epilepsy for which surgery cannot be proposed. The objective of this study was to perform microstimulation to measure the effects of DBS in epilepsy locally

Soft Magnetite–PEDOT:PSS Composite Microactuator Fabrication via Meniscus‐Assisted 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Sequential meniscus‐guided 3D printing of PEDOT:PSS and magnetite nanoparticles enables fabrication of high‐aspect‐ratio soft microactuators. The PEDOT:PSS base ensures flexibility, while the magnetite top provides magnetic responsiveness, achieving precise, reversible motion under external fields.

Tunable Mass Transport and Enhanced Electrochemical Performance of CO2 Laser Engraved Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work introduces vector‐mode CO2 laser engraving as a rapid strategy to fabricate electrochemical sensors with tunable mass transport. Spiral electrodes can behave as disk electrodes, outperforming conventional raster‐engraved devices in current density and sensitivity.

Stimulus induced high frequency oscillations are present in neuronal networks on microelectrode arrays.

open access: yesFrontiers in Neural Circuits, 2012
Pathological high frequency oscillations (250-600Hz) are present in the brains of epileptic animals and humans. The etiology of these oscillations and how they contribute to the diseased state remains unclear.
