Long‐Term Stable Neural Interfaces with Nanoporous Graphene Electrodes and Hybrid Polyimide‐Aluminium Oxide Encapsulation

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Flexible thin‐film neural microelectrodes combining nanoporous reduced graphene oxide and a PI/Al2O3 hybrid encapsulation maintained stable electrochemical performance after soaking in PBS at 57 °C for over 377 days while they sustained the injection of 1 billion biphasic current pulses at high charge density (1 mC cm−2).

Modular and Vertically Integrated Microsupercapacitor Arrays Based on Laser‐Induced Graphene and Bimetallic Oxide Interfaces on Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrate

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Modular and flexible MSCs are fabricated through a fully integrated, laser‐assisted process that enables in‐situ synthesis of bimetallic nanodomains on LIG patterned LCP substrates. The multilayered architecture, formed via laser‐drilled vertical interconnects, supports compact energy modules with robust electrochemical performance, ensuring consistent

Peptide nucleic acid biosensors: Structure–interface interactions, electrochemical signal strategies, and diagnostic applications

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
This review discusses the structural and functional properties of peptide nucleic acid (PNA)‐based biosensors, emphasizing their sensitivity, enzymatic resistance, and diagnostic potential. It presents a comparative analysis of detection limits across sensor designs, focusing on probe immobilization, electrode composition, and signal amplification. The

Polarization vision and the physiological basis for trichromatic vision in Philaenus spumarius: Understanding host‐seeking behaviour in insect vectors for Xylella fastidiosa control

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, EarlyView.
We investigated the role of vision in host‐seeking behaviour by Philaenus spumarius, the main European vector of Xylella fastidiosa, through an integrated anatomical, optical, physiological, and behavioural study. Our data highlight that the spittlebug uses visual cues, including polarized light, which may aid in detecting the polarized reflections ...

Preclinical models for evaluating psychedelics in the treatment of major depressive disorder

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Psychedelic drugs have seen a resurgence in interest as a next generation of psychiatric medicines with potential as rapid‐acting antidepressants (RAADs). Despite promising early clinical trials, the mechanisms which underlie the effects of psychedelics are poorly understood.
