Modelling stomatal mechanics: a critical review

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary The biomechanics of stomatal movements have fascinated scientists for almost 150 yr, yet we still lack a conclusive and coherent mechanistic understanding of the process. In this review, we present a framework that allows critical insight into the state of knowledge of stomatal biomechanics, with a focus on modelling approaches.

Dissecting the Cell‐Type‐Specific Response to an Emerging Tobamovirus in Tomato Reveals Cultivar‐Dependent Involvement of Brassinosteroid Signalling

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant viruses drive widespread crop epidemics, yet the host plant responses across different cell types, particularly how these responses are influenced by cultivars with varying genetic backgrounds, including the presence of resistance (R) genes, remain poorly understood. Using tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) and two tomato cultivars,

Growth stresses and cellulose structural parameters in tension and normal wood from three tropical rainforest angiosperm species

open access: yesBioResources, 2007
Few studies have been conducted about relation between cellulose para-meters and biomechanical properties of wood in tropical angiosperms species. For this purpose, on 13 trees from 3 species of French Guyana tropical rainforest in a clear active process

Proteomic Analysis Reveals Accompanying Anion‐Dependent Changes of Cadmium Toxicity During Arabidopsis thaliana Development

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cadmium (Cd) is a significant environmental pollutant with widespread detrimental effects on living organisms, making it a frequent subject of laboratory studies. However, different types of Cd salts are used to spike media, often without considering the possibility that accompanying anions may influence the effects of metal cations. Using two

MODULUS OF ELASTICITY AND HARDNESS OF COMPRESSION AND OPPOSITE WOOD CELL WALLS OF MASSON PINE

open access: yesBioResources, 2012
Compression wood is commonly found in Masson pine. To evaluate the mechanical properties of the cell wall of Masson pine compression and opposite wood, nanoindentation was used. The results showed that the average values of hardness and cell wall modulus

Influence of the slope of terrain on the spatial variability of the wood density within Eucalyptus trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this study was to understand how contrasting environments influence the wood formation in Eucalyptus clones and the effect on wood density and spatial variability.

From Ink to Mockup: An Integrated Study of Historical Gall Ink Formulations and Their Impact on Paper

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Volume 91, Issue 2, February 2026.
Iron gall inks percipitates (right), and mockups upon artificial ageing (left) Iron gall inks (IGIs) played a central role as a writing medium in Western countries, leaving behind a vast legacy and significant conservation challenges. This study presents a twofold methodological approach to investigate the physicochemical behaviour of IGI‐based ...
