Anisotropy of yttrium microhardness
Physica Status Solidi (a), 1981Polar and azimuthal diagrams of the microhardness of yttrium single crystals are constructed. The polar diagram of the microhardness in the (112x) planes with the c axis is close in its form to an ellipsoid of rotation around the [0001] direction with axes 90 and 40 kg/mm2.

Ultra-microhardness of vacuum-deposited films I: Ultra-microhardness tester
Thin Solid Films, 1978Abstract A Vickers type ultra-microhardness tester which is useful for the study of surface films thicker than a few tens of nanometres is described. A diamond triangular cone indenter with a tip radius of 120 nm is employed, and its penetration depth under a given load is observed.

Microhardness anisotropy of lamellar bone
Journal of Biomechanics, 1997The Knoop microhardness test has been utilised to observe in-plane microhardness anisotropy of rat tibiae. The elongated rhombohedral geometry of the Knoop indenter enables the Knoop microhardness (HK) to be calculated for a given indenter orientation.

The Microhardness of Articular Cartilage
Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1975The standard metallurgical technique of microhardness testing was useful for investigations on the physical properties of articular cartilage. The problem of visco-elasticity of the cartilage was overcome by using a brittle lacquer coating as a memory device. The surface layer was the hardest plane when the superficial layer was intact.

Microhardness of phosphate glasses
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1994Abstract Vickers microhardness values of some binary and ternary phosphate glasses were determined. An increase of Vickers hardness was obtained on addition of a second alkali oxide (Li2O or K2O) or a divalent oxide (CaO or ZnO) to a sodium phosphate glass. The microhardness values were also seen to be a function of the applied load.

Fluoride treatment and microhardness of dentin
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1979Effects of various fluoride treatments on the microhardness of human dentin were determined. Treatment with acidulated phosphate-fluoride at pH 3.0 induced a significant (p less than .05) softening when compared to treatment with water. APF at pH 4.0 did not bring about a significant change.

Microhardness and microhardness anisotropy of tungsten
Transactions of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, 1968Both doped and undoped W single crystals exhibit hardness anisotropy with respect to the direction of testing in each of the crystallographic planes investigated. The hardness anisotropy of undoped, single-crystal W is rather pronounced in the {001} and {110} planes but very minor in the {111} planes.

Microhardness of provisional fixed prosthodontic materials
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1999Provisional restorations play a critical role in the success of restorative treatment. Thus, the provisional restoration must maintain its surface integrity throughout the restorative process. This study evaluated the microhardness of 5 prosthodontic provisional materials.Cylindrical samples of 3 bis-acryl resin composites (Integrity, Protemp Garant ...

Microhardness of NaCl Bicrystals
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1982Microhardness measured on cleaved surfaces of nominally pure and lightly calcium‐doped NaCl bicrystals showed a modest increase at the grain boundary that could be attributed to segregation of calcium and a larger increase in both bulk and boundary produced by rapid cooling.
