Ventral Anterior–Lateral Complex of the Thalamus Mediates Chronic Stress‐Induced Pain Hypersensitivity and Underlies Electroacupuncture Analgesia

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2025.
Chronic restraint stress (CRS) necessarily and sufficiently induces hyperalgesia by activating ventral anterior–lateral complex of the thalamus (VAL) CaMKIIα‐positive neurons. Electroacupuncture alleviates CRS‐induced paw mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia by suppressing these VAL neurons.

Actin Filament Pointed Ends: Assays for Regulation of Assembly and Disassembly by Tropomodulin and Tropomyosin

open access: yesCytoskeleton, Volume 82, Issue 9, Page 571-591, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Actin filaments are dynamic polymers whose length depends on regulated monomer association and dissociation at their ends. Actin barbed‐end dynamics are relatively better understood, primarily due to the approximately tenfold faster subunit on/off rates at barbed versus pointed ends.

Mitochondrial Diseases: Molecular Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Advances

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Key pathogenic mechanisms—OXPHOS defects, heteroplasmy, impaired mtDNA repair, disrupted dynamics/mitophagy, and inflammatory signaling—drive multiorgan involvement in mitochondrial diseases. Targeted interventions include metabolic drugs (CoQ10, idebenone, EPI‐743), mitochondrial gene editing (DdCBE, mitoBEs, CyDENT/mitoTALEN/mtZFN), and mitochondrial

Mitochondrial Dysfunction in Aging: Future Therapies and Precision Medicine Approaches

open access: yesMedComm – Future Medicine, Volume 4, Issue 3, September 2025.
Mitochondria play a critical role in aging and aging‐related diseases. This review systematically explores the mechanisms underlying mitochondrial deterioration during aging and highlights innovative therapeutic strategies for these mitochondrial problems.
