Fault Detection of Electric Motors via Symmetrized Dot Pattern‐Based Features

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel symmetrized dot pattern (SDP) approach using designed SDP‐based features, extracted from transformed vibration signals, for fault detection. These features describe the compactness, inclination, and shape of the “snowflake” diagram distributions.

A Time Delay Estimation Method Based on Wavelet Transform and Speech Envelope for Distributed Microphone Arrays

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2013
A time delay estimation method based on wavelet transform and speech envelope is proposed for distributed microphone arrays. This method first extracts the speech envelopes of the signals processed with multi-level discrete wavelet transform, and then ...

Speech recognition using ad-hoc microphone arrays

open access: yes, 2010
While close talking microphones give the best signal quality and produce the highest accuracy from current Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) systems, the speech signal enhanced by microphone array has been shown to be an effective alternative in a noisy

Sliding Mode Control in Aerospace Applications: A Survey

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sliding mode control (SMC) enjoys robustness to matched and unmatched (in the case of minimum phase input‐output dynamics) bounded perturbations, and finite time convergence. Second‐order and higher‐order sliding mode control systems (2‐SMC/HOSMC) retain all the advantages of sliding mode control, but in addition can be applied to systems of ...

Flexible Beampattern Design Algorithm for Spherical Microphone Arrays

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Specific beampatterns of spherical microphone arrays (SMAs) are designed for different noise scenarios. The standard beampattern usually achieves optimum value in one of the performance indicators.

Bath Vibration During Open Eye Formation in a Physical Model of a Steelmaking Ladle

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Using a physical model, this study shows that vibration measurements reliably predict open eye size in steelmaking ladles, offering a practical alternative to visual monitoring. Vessel vibrations stabilize faster than the open eye, except at high frequencies near the bottom.
